I'm still proud of the Tiges. We played better than I expected and the improvements are showing. Still alot of bad things, but it was generally better than we have been

Shattered about the result but there were some huge positives.

Cotchin broke a tag after a quiet start and was probably our second best after Jack.

Jack is the best forward in the competition. Great forward pressure also.

Newman great.

Jackson had a great 2nd half.

Conca. Holy ****. Bombers can have Heppell. This kid is exactly what we need. Unbelievable composure. Seriously the most impressive debut from a tiger in years.

Batch will be a very good footballer.

I am really disappointed in Martin. Was he fit? Spent a lot of time in the forward line. Just wasn't there tonight.

Lids took too long to get involved. I'm worried he'd a front runner. He was awesome in the 3rd.

All in all pretty good first up game. Something to build on.

Played one quarter of footy, can never win it like that. Thats alright, we're getting there.

The thing that pisses me off is handballing to stationary players. Deledio and Martin could of offered more but we can all see that. They're all allowed a few dud matches looking foward to seeing those two bounce back.

PS, we're stuffed if Jack gets injured.

Ease up all the doomers, was a good effort the kids ran outif legs but had a fair dinkim crack ! IMO we have had to many miss huge portions of PRE season or not playing !

Yep good call Pace.

I should have mentioned, Nahas was really really good tonight. I feel he gave us a whole lot of run tonight, he should feel pretty proud with his effort! :thumbsu:

I agree Deledio should always play in the middle. A great running goal player. If every Richmond trade him, I hope fast Eddie gets him. :)

Too true, other than some ordinary individual performances this is one thing i didnt like about tonight. Handballing to players that are flat footed and handballing to players with their back to looming opposition players. It really gets the nervous going.

Siren goes. Richmond lose it by 20. 104 - 84.

Positives -
Nahas - Took the game on and provided some run and carry
Cotchin - Set up a lot of goals and showed this is gonna be his breakout year and to start the season 22 possessions
Grigg - Great first game with the Tigs with 23 disposals
Riewoldt - 6 goals, what else can I say? He has kept his 2010 momentum
Conca - Excellent debut, showed composure and set up a lot of goals
White - Kept to his role and chipped in with a goal
Jackson - 7 tackles, awesome stuff when keeping Judd to 12 possessions at one time in the game
Graham - 8 tackles, not much credit to him but he did great, needs to keep the consistency
Newman - Lead the team in the 3rd quarter and begin his roll after halftime

Negatives -
Deledio - Gone backwards in his development as a player, stupid mistakes by a number 1 draft pick, I don't want to see him doing that again next week. If he does it again next week I want him to go to Coburg to brushen up. No excuses for senior players. Tonight he should've gone to the midfield when he couldn't get enough ball
Rance - Showed a bit but also a lot of clangers by him
Foley - Ran out of steam and just couldn't keep up with Murphy, needs to be sent to Coburg to brushen up
Astbury - For someone wearing No.12 he should at least show something delightful

Other notes -
Morton - Looked great in the beginning but slacked off later on when he missed an easy grab. Needs to stay on the wing
Dustin Martin - Strong boy, needs to keep it simple, fend off and kick. Not fend off 2 and TRY to fend off another and to get tackled and penalized for it.

What we need to work on
• Finish off the tackles, pin the arms
• We are best when doing one on ones and we need to stick to it, during the first half we let Gibbs have all the space he wanted
• Decision making, pressure

Some good signs for Damien Hardwick to feedback on also some things to work on

Congratulations to the BF whipping boys - White, Rance, McGuane and Nahas all threw themselves into the fray and played well.

White played a VERY VERY important role tonight, correct me if I am wrong but I cannot remember one thing he did wrong

well done on a good game guys...
Jack is a gun!
what are your thoughts on Rance? I think he may find himself in a bit of trouble for the hit on Waite?

Tuck in for Helbig and I reckon we would have gotten over the line tonight with some big clearances in last qtr

Actually why did Foley play instead of Tuck? I rarely saw Foley in the centre he was more up forward and subbed off just after half time?

Anyway I think we are a big chance vs the saints next week.
Tuck and King come in - Helbig and Foley out if he is injured.

Positives tonight
Conca and Batchelor IMO were our best in defence. Look like great pick ups
Houli and Grigg had slow starts but both where great in the 3rd to get us infront.
I think Houli could become and elite outside linking up player.
Rance improved after half time.
Vickery and Graham did some good things
White played really well
Jack- what more can I say.... Gun
Nahas solid effort

Deledio, Edwards and Foley had shockers

Tuck /king in next week

I can't hide my hatred for what Jarrod Waite did to Luke McGuane. If the head is sacrosanct, then the testicles are just as sacrosanct. Cowardly act from a repeat offender, and to have Matthew Lloyd defend him, well, that says it all coming from the king of cowardly, despicaple acts.

So an almost AA player, makes a couple of silly errors in the first game of the year, and his development has gone backwards?

Waite deserved it and more.
What are your thoughts on hero Waite's kick to McGuane's testicles?

The Rance hit was fine, You should be worried about your boy Waite getting 5 weeks for kicking a guy in the nuts deliberately. Pitiful person, especially when he is actually a male. :thumbsd:

YOU DON'T KICK A GUY IN THE NUTS, OKAY?

All of this talk coming from carlton about how they got some ticker and mongrel during the pre-season and thats what they have to show from it. Not sure how or if it will go in the tribunal but absolutely pathetic dog act nonetheless :thumbsd:

Good game. I liked the look of Nahas, from what I've gathered he's quite maligned by the Richmond board in general.

Riewoldt crushed White and Thornton. He's a hell of a player.
