Just wondering how Collingwood is shaping up for round 1 ?

Crows probably wont have Torney, Welsh and Roo at this stage and Bock is a week by week proposition, so is probably 50/50.

How are the Pies looking ? Many injuries ? Who are the young superstars that are burning up the track we should look out for ?

Look forward to responses.

Cheers - GoSarge

Our superstars that will be burning up the track are:
Frazer Didak Rocca Buckley Tarrant: you definitely would'nt have seen these guys in action recently - let alone on the same team toghethor:)

Burns (Calf), Licuria (Ankle), Rusling (Shoulder), Shaw (Knee).

Burns and Licca should be ok for Round 1. Both are getting a run for Williamstown this week.
Rusling should be back by Round 8.
Most importantly though, Rhyce will be back for the Anzac Day clash.

Other then those injuries, everything is looking fabulous at pie land. It should be a very good match, because I know the old Collingwood of 02/03 will be back.

Am I mistaken or didn't Roo play int he NAB Grand Final last week ? Anyway Crows will win round 1 by about 16 points.

yeh u are mistaken, he didnt play. your also an essendon supporter so rack off

Adelaide's side is still very strong, but without Ricciuto it may be different. Torney and Welsh aren't the end of the world, considering Torney isn't the most valuable player, but Hentschel and Perrie are looking very good early on and Welsh isn't a huge loss if those two can perform. McGregor capable at playing both ends, will play back if Bock is out, but Rutten, Bassett and Hart are there.

Jericho should play, and as a taller type to fill in missing height in Welsh. Hinge may also make an AFL Debut

For us though, this was the question and CT stated our injuries, and it shows we are in good form in the medical rooms. Burns not getting up isn't a major concern as I think his role will be more of a Riccardi role (off the bench, latter years of his career, still have an impact though). Burns hasn't played all pre-season and we have looked great, so it isn't a huge concern. Licuria should be back though, as CT said, both will be playing in Royal Blue and Gold this weekend.

Dale Thomas will no doubt be making his AFL Debut. Was in the Herald Sun this week that he is expected to make his debut, and a short article was written on Thomas, and he said he was exited.

He will most likely be our only one making an AFL Debut, especially with an almost full team. Cameron Cloke will also be one to watch out for, as he is likely to play close to a full year in the Pies jumper. He has had an impressive pre-season to me.

Yep im exited about the game how do you rate roo's chaces of playing 50-50 ?
i cant wait to see Bucks,Didak,Tarrant,Rocca,Fraser all in the same team im confident.
is welsh and torney 100% not playing becuase i havnt heard much about them.

according to injuryupdate.com.au, Ricciuto doesn't appear to be injured. I thought he was ready 2 weeks back, and he just didn't play, unless the injury is taking longer to get better. Torney is expected to be back round 2 there. Welsh as we all should know by now was expected to miss 1-2 months.

Jason Torney quadriceps strain
Injured at training, grade II and will struggle to be fully fit for round 1.

Rhys Shaw at full fitness is in our best team , Rusling is borderline at the moment.
If Burns and Licuria come up sweet and nothing unexpected happens , we should only be missing Shaw as a genuine part of our best team.

Rusling really hasn't done anything for Collingwood as of yet.

Hopefully Burns and Licuria play so we don't have any excuses if we lose:D
Positive thinking though. I can feel 2003 coming on, but a slightly better year:)

Will have a full side except for Rhycey, which to most non-Pies supporters, and Pies supporters is a hack, or was a hack. They all of a sudden jumped on the bandwagon again. Once you jump off, your off.

Lica and Burnsy both were solid for Williamstown last week from all reports, so expect them to play. Lica probably the most likely player not to come up if any. Burns will most likely will be on and off the bench on Monday night anyway.

Looks like the Pies have ditched the "slow start" programme. I guess we need some respect and some wins from the word go.

I posted on the Crows board that in a funny way this game means a bit more to us than them. If the Crows are coming of a top H&A season last year (albeit with a hasty exit from September), and showed good form in the NAB. An away loss would be dissapointing but not earth shattering. An away win would be a nice bonus for them, not a gimme.

I reallt want us to bust a gut for this game and show we're better than 04 and 05 suggest, and prove it really was injury and opoor form that saw us slump. MM is an excellent coach and I think he has the fire to take the boys to twice as many wins as we took last year.
