I'm so glad we picked Mansell for his forward pressure. Cumbo would have kicked 6.
Kicking one would've been enouh
Roast:
  • Bad kicking is bad football.
  • Four umpires and they still can't get it right.

Toast:
  • Taranto was worth every penny.
  • Dusty looks like he's back and primed for big year.
  • It's nice to win a few clearances.

Changes:
  • The Mansell move didn't work. Cumberland or Clarke the better choice.
  • I don't think Miller did enough to justify his selection over Ryan.
  • Cotchin should be used as a mid rotation. The forward experiment is over.
On TV I couldn't tell where Cotch was playing. Fwd was it?

Pretty underwhelming effort. Dysfunctional forward line, 66 Inside 50s for 8 goals. Inept kicking for goal, Bolton directly in front 25 m out and goes around the corner and misses. Ross with fresh legs can't even kick a point from 45 m out. Mansell should not have played at the expense of Cumberland. Most disappointing was Plopper, just hopeless and I get the feeling that he might be our worst high priced recruit in a while. Reckon Voss will be pretty happy that he conceded an extra 20 inside 50s and still managed a draw. Hopefully Lynch kicking the clutch goal quells the demons from the Brisbane final last year.

Umpire in our F50 a cheat. Didn't give the obvious frees to us and gave the Blues so many soft frees
Ive played in div z games with club umpires that were less bias and fairer.

4 of those cheating campaigners carnt see the holds, highs, push outs and arm chops against our guys but somehow see them at the other end and if you flop over, it's okay

Our htb seems to be a heartbeat but for the blues it's a lifetime

We never seem to have small forwards leading into space. Somehow the coaches need to reduce the focus on Lynch and Jack by having them pull the defenders out wide which should create more space for Dusty, 'Georgie' Bolton and Cotch.

Inside 50 just way too congested, must admit when the ball was in dispute the Blues seemed to get every bounce and ricochet fall their way.
Yeah I can't remember one time that game where Dusty or Bolton were isolated deep forward with space like we've done previously. We need to try to get that to happen as much as possible

my thoughts are,

that we start the season slow I reckon we are not used to having two players like hopper and TT in the side just yet. Our midfield looks good in the moment.
we won all the stats in that game so there is a lot to take away from it moving forward

If Shai is to enter into that A+ role he needs get a set shot routine
