Not sure O'halpin will be fit. Doubt Russell or Hartlett will make it.

Davies can't even be an emerg as he's suspended.

I agree with this line-up. Like every club, Pagan's gonna want to play the strongest team possible for round 1. Which I think is fair enough. We can't afford to play inexperienced players if they're gonna cost us the game. -Not this early in the season.

I think the biggest query is whether to play Livo or not. I'm not certain at this stage who his opponent would be. You'd think Thornton will play on Robertson, and Lance on Neitz. But Livo?.... Maybe someone like Paul Johnson...

The other match-ups: I'd play McGrath on Davey, and don't be angry at me :p, but I'd play Walker on Johnston.

We're a chance to win this. Just like we're a chance to get beaten by 100+ points. That's Carlton for ya.

You put Lance either on Miller or give him a free floating role. Livo takes Nietz given that he has a pretty good record on them. Livo for the gorillas but otherwise we should keep him in the twos.

Carrazzo on Davey.

I think Livo might play on Neitz. Whitnall at CHB. Either Carrazzo or McGrath on Davey.

No Houlihan... i'd be his biggest doubter - but since we have kept him.

He will play rd 1 unless injured!

Lets hope he steps up!

Does everyone agree that T-bird should have first crack at Robbo?

It'll be tough, and Robbo does play for frees here and there. I can't think of anyone else that could match him on the lead though..

I like the look of that...except I'd probably play Russell or Bannister instead of Teague. Bannister, might be useful as a tagger or as a tallish 3rd defender. Russell, just cause he seems ready to me and can add some pace.

I think we should play carazzo on davey, and if he is gettin beaten then throw walker on him, but id like to see walker on a wing to start with and let him run and try and create something for the forwards, he has had his year of learning now let him put it on show.

Ok.

B. Carrazzo Livingston Teague
HB. Mcgrath Thornton Lappin
C. Walker Stevens Simpson
HF. Houlihan Whitnall Fisher
F. Betts Fevola Waite
RUCKS. French Koutoufides
ROVER. Bentick
INTER. Scotland Mclaren Murphy Wiggins
EMERG. Any body but Prenda!!!

I would like to see Lance start forward just to see if we can stretch the Dees defence early, of course if we are getting butchered in the midfield i would then probably move him back.
Would include Saddington but i am un sure how fit he is, if available i would probably remove Teague from the line up.
Play Houlihan forward where he can hurt opposition defenders if he can get his hands on the ball. And lets hope to god the midfield can lay some tackles this year and put pressure on the opposition on ballers, we have been just awful at this over the last few years.
Good luck to Murph if he gets a go look forward to watching him develop into (hopefully) a gun for us.
Walker needs to stand up this year and start hurting the opposition when he gets the ball.
Livo is no superstar but he is still our best option at FB.
Simo is class and Fisher will really take the next step if he can stay fit.
Lets hope Waitey spends some time on the ball this year so he can crunch a few blokes and bang a few bodies.
Scotland can hurt sides when he is on, Wiggo is just desperate - body on the line stuff, its not pretty but it is what we lack on occasions.
Bentick, in and under hard at it, beautiful.
Kouta, Stevo & Lappin = class lets hope they can get the ball in their hands alot.
And Fev, goals early and who knows what might happen.
Some have included DeLuca, i would personally pick Bryan ahead of him he can provide another defensive option if we are desperate, Deluca has just about done his dash in my books but i hope he proves me wrong.
If Carlos is fit i would love to see him get a game, and luke Blackwell impressed me in the NAB cup game and might be a suprise selection.
Russell & Bannister would be other choices also.
No Prenda! Ever!

Not a bad idea Funky, but I would wonder who would then play on Miller. Perhaps something like this:

Neitz - Livo
Robertson - T-Bird
Miller - Teague
Davey - Carrazzo

Teague will towel Miller and McGrath will get davey for sure, he is our vest tagger and Carrazzo is better at finding the footy.

Whitnall the Janitor, mopping up all the mess down back and sending it back

If Thornton goes to Robbo, which I think he will, will certainly mean that Teague will take Miller.

Not so sure about McGrath on Davey. Carrazzo has had some good games on Davey and would be the ideal matchup. Perhaps McGrath could run with Cam Bruce, just in an attempt to keep his impact down to a minimum.

I hope Thornton has a good year and the team supports him, cause he is a good player just with not much help.
I know carrazzo has played well in the past, but I think pagan is using him more as a midfielder, plus corey Mcgraths only role in the side is a tagger and I think he is our best one!

Would like to see carlton recruit a medium sized defender for all those middle of the range forwards, like robbo, who are quick and strong overhead, just don't think we have anyone,YET!

Jarred Waite, will really impose himself this year, star in the making
