Looks like Stack must have put in a good summer. Happy to see him and still think he could be a player.Although we do seem to have some amazing judges who have written him off already.

Stacky had eye sight problems last season that he tried to hide from the club, eventually told the club who got the problems fixed. Hopefully that helps, very surprised to see him get a game though

Barlow, Sherman, Wallis, Djerrkura, Hill, Minson, Picken

Picken, Sherman and Minson you would think are locks. Djerrkura or Hill as the sub. Will as the sub with one of the above 2 on the bench?

Have the teams been announced yet? on the superfooty website it has the team line ups and Sherman and Picken have been named has emergencies! and wheres Vez? Hill was alright during the preseason but surely Sherman and especially Picken MUST get a game before Hill and Barlow

Yes but Ant with out lake we need Williams to be our number 1 backman. With Jones in the side we can transfer Grant from a flank to a more hit up CHF well he is rucking. I think this would give us a fair bit of flexibility and extra run. I also wouldn't be surprised to see Jones sent down back at times well Lake is out.

The other option for the 1 ruckman policy would be for Markovic to ruck in a Leigh Brown type rucking role for a 10%-15% share of the dutys. He has done this at VFL level and handled himself ok

Yeah not saying Williams would get the gig. I meant the club has experimented with playing the one ruckmen.

I think there is only a few ruckman in the league that can do it.

Sandi
Jolly
Hudson
Mumford

I think all othersides need to use 2 ruckman and i can see us ending up preferring to use Jones for what he offers at CHF compared to Roughead/Minson in a pocket

NOT STACK! Every week people ask to give him another chance, but what has he done ever to warrant it?? We arn't going anywhere with him in our 22.

Are you basing your comments on what he has done since last season or before ..... because from what has been reported in the pre-season he has been very good and doing everything the coaching panel wanted.

If Barlow gets a gig along with Stack in side we will have 2 players who are literally afraid of physical contact in our team....:( Our backline looks very shaky for this game, better dominate the middle.
Barlow isn't afraid of physical contact, he's scared of multiple options. He'd play better with blinkers on thinking there was only one way to go the whole game.

Good to see Markovic get his chance. Was very good in pre-season and grew up as a doggie's fan so we can be sure he will play with passion.

Will be an intresting back half with no Lake, Hargrave and gilbee so hopefully we can cope well. Win the ball in the middle and keep it in with forward pressure.

Picken and sherman will surely be in the squad. The rest will be battleing it out for the final 2 spots.

Stack?
The match committee is apparently trying to sabotage our season pretty early.

Stack has earnt his spot with a good preseason off the hbf and if he stays in the side this will mean he is in good form.

The real positive is we have a fairly strong interchange bench to choose from add Lake, Gilbee, Hargrave, Reid, Addison, Roughead etc still to be considered and we have some real depth.
What this means is there is pressure for spots in the side and the players that play senior football cannot afford a form slump because there are some real options this is real healthy. There is pressure from Libba to Wood to Gia to perform to keep their place.

Sorry to intrude guys but went to the NAB Challenge game against us and was very impressed with Barlow. Looked your classic sub type. Very mobile for a big man - did good stuff across half forward and half back as well as ruck stints. Skills looked good too.

Not sure if I'm missing something but does not seem a lot of love for him here?

Think you guys will be easily too strong for the Dons BTW.

The main problem with Barlow, as has been stated by Sydney fans last year, he's got fairly good skills and trains the house down and yet just freezes up out there.

ffs!!!!!!

You can see why he would though. Young man, fringe player. Desperately wants to play so doesn't let the club know of something they'd potentially delist him over.

It's not like his bad eyesight cost us games.

In hindsight (baboom tish) it didn't. Now is his chance to prove to the fans and the club that he was worth keeping on the list.
