This may not in fact be correct

I just think it quite sad that people like yourself are deprived of posting on a thread because your lover boy hasn't started it
It's ok to post you know. What if Brad is over Bigfooty and moved on to better forums?
To each his own

There's no reason for the Lions to be sending their best team to Perth sending rookies wouldn't hurt play our best team 6 days later against North Melbourne
Two of your best five players are virtually ruled out anyway (zorko, beams). Kind of agree with your logic although it's very unfair to the handful of lions fans that'll be there.
I don't think we'll totally destroy brissy, but I think we'll easily win by 6-8 goals, with some young lions having a real Crack.
Dogs v freo Imo the hardest game to pick, should be a cracker.

Sheils is a bigger out than most people realise too. Flies under the radar a bit, but actually massively important to our side. Duckwood definitely playing, Another shortened pre-season for us, Danger in, Cats a HUGE chance.
Not definite yet. Needs to get through a VFL practice match. He'll no doubt be underdone but he was underdone in Round 1 last year and still contributed better than most. I'd happily take 21 touches, 5 clearances and 5 frees from him again this time around.

I think trying to win the game would be a good reason to send the best team over.

Not when North Melbourne have the 7 day break and the Lions might not get home till the Monday that would be the reason to send rookies I would think
Starting the season with a win you'd think would be a priority. If you're only trying to win some of your games you aren't going to win enough. Could possibly be 2-0 after 2 rounds but not if you're sending rookies.

I really dont like the Roos, but am I missing something? Suprised so many are tipping the Crows, after they just lost their best player. At Etihad North should roll the Crows fairly easily.

Yes you are missing something. Perhaps it's that those picking us aren't stupid enough to be sucked in by the eternal Victorian media one liner, saying the same crap over again...Danger's left so crows are stuffed. The reality is, it's a team sport. The crows list is now in the age/games profile that usually seriously pushes for a flag, and we have talent on every line, with a number of AA's including 2 down back, one of the league's best ruckmen, and a formidable forward line. One player doesnt make a team. We still have a number of bloody good inside mids, and most if not all of them with better disposal efficiency than Dangerfield. North don't generally trouble us, especially early in the season, it certainly won't be the cakewalk for them that you seem to think.
