Im thinking of going Raines to Cheney but how many more games will Cheney get??

I may well be insane, but I'm holding onto my trades for this week. Raines is the only one I've really lost, so I'll bring in Petrenko or someone to replace him.

Then next week I'll see how I'm placed with injuries, etc to see what I really need to do. Maybe I drop Raines to a rookie and use the cash to upgrade someone to a premium...?

This week i traded cousins for dangerfield and raines for petterd. I did have buckley so i moved him to the bench and bought in Cheeny.

I have around 500k in my cap to most likely buy Ablett next week.
Just hope Hill plays for freo otherwise i will be a man down.
Hopefully dangerfield plays most games so i can make some money on him.

Why? Houlihan is heaps better then Petterd in my opinion. See my above post.

i'm willing (well not now i've already made the trade) to take the risk with Petterd. he is in our best 22. he's a very smart player who knows how to find the ball regardless of where he is on the park.

the only position i'd be concerned to see him in would sitting deep in the forward line. not that it's likely to ever happen

maybe Houlihan will be the better sc player for the season. but you have to take risks some times. the extra money in the bank would have been nice as well

Great start to the season for me, I had Raines, Cousins, Hurley and Suckling all injured. 3 defenders.

Cousins straight out for Zaharakis to free up some cash, then I got rid of Tippet so I could get S.Johnson into my forward line. Leaves me one short in defence this week, hopefully the difference between Johnson and Tippet scoring will compensate me playing one down for the week.

I wanted to get both Chapman and Johnson in last week while it was still free but unfortunately the site went into meltdown.

I have plenty of money in the bank so at this stage it will be Hentschell out next week for Chapman in (he's fit this year and will be doing a lot of work onball so I expect him to go back up to pre 2007 prices) and pick up a cheapish defender for Raines before prices go up.

I have Hodge and Joel Selwood, they're two I'll be keeping a close eye on before prices increase/decrease. Hopefully I can then settle down.

Just the one for me this week. With Scott Stevens and Suckling both out I had to pull the trigger and cut Raines. If I wasn't ranked fairly highly I would have happily eaten that doughnut.

Too expensive to be on the bench and should score well until he loses his spot in the team half way through the year (if he does at all). I'm comfortable with him being a starting mid/fwd and making me a bundle of cash before i upgrade him.

Would be surprised if he even loses his spot. One of the best preseason players and started the premiership season well. With the amount of injuries and shitty players Essendon has, I think he will be playing every game with ease.

i would trade out anthony, or would have if i were u. This week i have like many traded out raines for cheney. The reasoning behind me trading him out is so i can bring in krakour for reid, next week and still have a trade to get rid of anthony for the highest scoring rookie.

Really didnt want to have to make any trades tho !

I agree with Judd Magic - stick with Hille, as consistent rucks are as rare as hens teeth. HMac's score was boosted by playing against rubbish.

Ok here's my dilemma:

b: Goddard, Drummond, Petterd, Dempsey, S Stevens, Chornes, Raines, Hurley, Petrenko
m: Tuck, Gibbs, Vince, Selwood, Hasleby, J McVeigh, Rich, L Anthony
r: McIntosh, Cox, White, Jacobs
f: Higgins, Chapman, Skipworth, Deledio, Houlihan, Krakouer, Fev, M Brown T Walker

Happy with everything except: McVeigh, Raines and L Anthony, but most of all the $283,400 which is burning a hole in my pocket. Tried to go a little bit too unique on McVeigh, and I'm regretting it now.

Ordinarily I would wait for round 2 before making a trade, but I will waste a trade this week for the following reasons:
1. McVeigh is not elite
2. I have cash in the bank
3. I figure that if I get an extra 50pts outta the new guy next week it will actually translate to 100pts, as I'll put them as el capitano.

Options basically are the guys who scored big this week: Power, Gazza, Dal Santo, etc etc.

I reckon I should do the McVeigh + 178K for Mr G Ablett. Raines and L Anthony can wait till round 2. Thoughts?

Last season he had an average of 99.2 but that was made up of a few monster scores including a 188, but this was balanced out with 3 scores 50 or less. So if you're happy with a ~100 average then I wouldn't trade him out.

I am convinced that Gilbert will play 22 games, if not injured.

I watched Gilbert very closely last year and IMO he will develop into a very good player for the Saints.
