In regards to round 1 supercoach scores there are 3 rules:

1. dont panic
2. try not to panic too much
3. when you panic, dont do anything rash.

Trading gun for gun is -EV.

Anyone remember Lids getting 70 in rnd 1 last year? He went on to avg 10 points higher than the year before.

I'll be trading out liam anthony. He's out for 3-4 min, then it will be another 3 weeks before i see any value out of him. So it would be round 8-9 until he gets any $$ so i don't see any point holding on to him. But he will be a good pick up when he finally make his debut. Hopefully mitch robinson will be 300,000+ by then, cha ching $$

wish i had taken more care with my team. :D

Not sure if i should make the trade now. tempted to hold off until after round 2.

But i have Kerr, probably trade him for Skipworth or Tuck and use the money to upgrade Embley at the back or Lucas or Hentschel up forward.

keep Embley, in a few games time when he's fully fit you'll regret ditching him.

Im plannin on downgrading Raines to Petterd, and then using the cash to upgrade anthony to Rich/Dangerfield/Otten. Ill probs pick up Cheney before round 3 if he has another good game and is guaranteed games in the future. I dont mind using these trades, cause i cant access Internet between rounds 3 and 5. My next trade will be before round 6!!

I have no idea what to do about Osborne. How long is he out for, anyone know? (Hawks website isn't helpful :P). Very disappointing. Trade him, leave him in for the moment?

And I had no idea that A. Selwood is on the injury list and I doubt he'll play this week so I'm not sure about him either! I have Dangerfield and Cook on the bench, but I fear that Cook might not get a game if Thompson/Symes comes in this week. Dilemmas, dilemmas!

none for this week as long as one of Petrenko/Suban are named and can fill in for Raines. Want to watch the potential targets for another week before making a decision.
Hurley and Cheney are the ones I'm considering
Also have Anthony and Butler in the midfield and no Robinson, these are what I'm considering for next week....
1. Downgrade Raines only
2. Downgrade Raines and Butler
3. Downgrade Raines and upgrade Butler
4. Downgrade Raines and sideways trade Anthony

Need to determine whether Butler is capable of earning enough cash or whether to cut the losses now.... If he stays around 300-350 he's still a 1.5-2 trade upgrade so I'm better off cashing down to Robinson.
I've basically decided to trade Raines and to probably downgrade him, just a matter of deciding who to.
Will only trade Anthony if i decide I won't have enough cash coming in early without moving him on for Robinson... atm Butler is more of a concern given his terrible game and theres $300K tied up in him.

question, (im a first year player.)

If i dont use my two trades this week, am i able to use 4 trades next week? or is it a limit to 2 trades a week?

My grandad has a question.

If you spent 6 months desinging and building a house and on the first night you stay in it you notice a small hole in the roof would you.

a) realise that your building wasnt as good as yu thought, and fix it before it rained.

b) wait for it to rain and you to get wet and then fix it, afterall the hole might naturally close up.

or

c) do nothing. You are a great house desginer who has built the perfect house. There couldn't possibly be anything wrong with it. And if you fixed the hole in the roof now, you might not have money for the extension out the back later.

The only reason to trade this week is if:

1 - you need 3 trades next week - for examples 2 injuries and you want to jump on a few cash cows

This is an excellent point. A lot of people will be wanting to trade Anthony and Raines at the moment. If you dont trade this week, one more injury next week and you miss the boat on the price rises in week 3, right?

But then again, what if you pull the trigger now on Anthony for Robinson, say, and then Robo gets hurt in week 2?

This game is full of dilemnas. Think I'll keep my powder dry.

i got two plans.

plan a. cheney for raines and then skipworth for anthony by the start of round 3. or just trade raines for gilbert if he fires again.

Ask him if he has enough evidence yet to be sure there's a hole .. or, if there is one, that it might end up being the least of his worries in 10 weeks

Then ask him why he spent 6 months building the house which he now suddenly doubts after only 1 week of living in it

I currently have Anthony and Beams on the bench. Is it worth a trade going

Anthony > Robinson?

The money or the trade?

I'd wait a week and then reassess. Robinson's game was against Richmond so you can't expect high scores from him every week and he is not exactly guaranteed a spot in the team.

If you don't already have them I would be looking at players like Rich, Otten, Dangerfield that are more likely to keep their spot.

Rich i have Otten too much but Dangerfield is def another option.

Anyone else have the Anthony Beams combo? Are you trading or keeping?

I have Otten as my 6th midfielder but no Rich or Dangerfield.

I am thinking of doing this trade next week -

Raines ---> U.Jiboni, Fetta Cheney, Hurley or Pettard.

Anthony --> Rich

Wanted to stick Rich in my team initially but couldn't afford it. If I had of downgraded Harvey, Pavlich and delidio to Franklin, Chapman and Richo then I could have had both Otten and Rich.

Ah, dammit, such is life! :D

Just traded Raines for Gilbert :)

"Gilbert out for 1-2 weeks" You would hate to see this after a Saints training session once he pulls up sore...

Just a hypothetical but geez people so eager to trade early. Once again some good advice - Wait til closer to the start of the next round to trade!!!

Just traded Raines for Gilbert :)

what happens if Gilbert scores 40 this week? and someone like Houlihan or Petterd or Frawley or Cheney scores 100+? Gilbert may turn out to be the right choice but you're relying on a helluva lot of luck basing your trades off just the one game. if you have an emergency covering Raines you basically get a free look at round 2 before any prices change.
