Ok, lets set the scene a little. It's Sunday March 25th,
a day game at the wonderful Canberra Oval an oval
we know well from selling our home games for the
good of the game and the corporate dollar.

We go into the game on the back of a stellar AFLX
performance and two JLT games one in Ballarat
and the other in Moe surely excellent preparation
for a trip to the home of porn and some other
    political fascinations.

The ins will probably include, Naughton, Crozier and
Trengove and i doubt Schache and Boyd have done
enough to be honest. Sydney pressured them which
worked as they are a little vulnerable when kept to
a low score. Our last two games have been two
losses 73 to 75 and a smashing late in the year
57 to 105, but we won the big one the year before,
    remember.

We are unfortunately going to lose by around 30-50 points depending if our midfield pits up a fight. Clear talls advantages everywhere for them

had a quick look at the market.

    Giants 1.45
    Dogs 2.75
They have the line at 14.5

BE interested to see how the market moves between now and the game

I reckon we will do them. I’m going to attend this one. I’m also going to ruin a few plastic supporters day as per usual. The pub behind the ground is ‘The Kingston Hotel’. Good for a few before and after.

No Wilson and Williams completely changes the way the Giants can play. Look at what happened when JJ was taken out of games last year. Putting Whitfield to the backline hurts their midfield and I think he’s going to be suspect defending inside 50.

Yes those backline runners were huge for them in the past couple of seasons.

I didn't see any of their pre-season matches. I'm interested to see how we go but I imagine it will be, best case, an arm wrestle. If either team is going to get off the leash I reckon it will be the Giants.

I agree with you on all points however I think we have to take the risk with Boyd. Without him the forward line looks way to small and I don't see how we can kick a wining score. (Not sure we can with him but it gives us a chance at least.)

I had Boyd as number one ruck in my team for round one
with Lewis Young the tall forward option along with
Dunkley, Wood and a smaller option yes only four
permanent forwards. Lewis Young is not a great kick,
but he does have leg speed and aerial ability. If they
choose to ruck Dawson Simpson then we have to
play Tom Campbell as Simpson is dominant and very
    huge.

Shaw looked to be well over the cliff towards the end of last season too.

If you think his finger pointing form will drop off, you’d be mistaken

Not sure if Rory Lobb will play either as missed a lot of the pre-season with a groin I think and didn't play JLT games. That will help us a bit

Doubt there will be much movement.
Punters will look for value in the Ess v Crows, Hawks v Pies and Cats v Dees games.

I have a feeling we’re gonna do them, if we don’t, and we get flogged, won’t be happy and a lot of work will be needed to improve. Hoping for a single digit win!

In a good place when we win
The only way we will beat them is by sustained, four quarter pressure and attack on the ball. Not sure we still have this in our armoury.

Roughead listed as in doubt with a groin injury in the Herald Sun. Does English play?
