5. Kelly - needs to fire and did
4. Sheed - needs to fire and did
3. Ryan - Watching this guy is a joy. Pure expression of Footy. More influential than the stat sheet can show.
2. Allen - The young lion roars!
1. Barrass - Tremendous mental fortitude. Looks driven.

Actually a tricky one to do for a change which is great. A lot of players with some really good moments and I'm praying that our woeful workrate for the first 3 quarters was by design in the conditions as much as anything else.

HM: Bung - vintage Bunga and his straight line attack on the ball was a joy to see back in action.
Cole - 2018 Cole returned. Got stepped a few times but over-all a marked improvement in intensity and one of the few 4 quarter contributors.

Coaches votes are in.

First game in quite a while I can think of where we did well and Nic didn't poll votes from either coach.
8 players polled at least 1 coaches vote, which is quite a large spread, and sounds like each coach had different view

It's a really interesting breakdown of the votes:
- Neither coach gave Oscar a full 5 votes
- Dom got 5 votes from one coach and zero from the other
- Lukosius only got one vote

West Coast v Gold Coast
8 Tim Kelly (WCE)
7 Oscar Allen (WCE)
5 Dom Sheed (WCE)
4 Shannon Hurn (WCE)
2 David Swallow (GCFC)
2 Jack Bowes (GCFC)
1 Tom Barrass (WCE)
1 Jack Lukosius (GCFC)

Pretty even performance, especially down back. Choosing Barrass or Cole or Rotham or Hurn?
Ryan misses out but was still great to watch...

5 - Allen
4 - Sheed
3 - Kelly
2 - Hurn
1 - Barrass

Common set of 5, but what's not common is this is exactly how the AFL.com has our best..
On that basis I'd like to change my votes but maybe it was obvious.

5. Kelly - our most damaging mid and a part of many of our scoring chains
4. Allen - 4 goals, should’ve been 5, including stints down back. The future is arriving
3. Sheed - kept winning the ball and with Kelly did the heavy lifting in the middle whilst others were down on production
2. Hurn - would back the clock. Vintage Bunga
1. Barrass - a pillar down back. Looks set for a big year

HM - Cole the unlucky one to miss votes

We will need a more even spread of contributors against the doggies if we’re to get a W this weekend

I nearly gave Jack Darling a vote for his early contender for 'best burning of a teammate' award. That is going to take some beating.
But decided that really wasn't in the spirit of the system.
