Ha, Tiny will be there in spirit ;).

As for the beer, thanks, would love to, but can't commit fully as I have three others (mrs and adult kids) to consider and we haven't spoken about what we are doing pre game etc. Not ruling it out though, might be in a better position closer to the game if that's ok?

$7 for the privilege upgrading your seat and printing off your ticket at home.

Crock. Of. Shit.

If 30,000 people do just that, that's a cool $210,000 for nothing.

It absolutely is. And Demetriou has said publicly that he hates the way Ticketmaster run Docklands bookings.

From memory, their other neat trick is forcing you to pay that $7 for every booking -Ticketek lets you gather as many in a transaction as you want.

What a joke. I can understand the idea of a fully ticketed game preventing problems on the day in terms of people not getting a seat, turned away at the gate etc. But could someone please explain why I should pay $14 plus booking fee for this to happen? (If I want to sit wing level 3 as I do for all our games). What a money grabbing exercise.

A pain for GA members and general supporters but no doubt this is a great thing for the club's viability and profitability.

Good point. I actually upgraded from Schimma to Premiership Club this season, just to throw a few extra ($230) dollars to the club, for really not much more member benefit.

C'mon guys, let the club prosper a bit and either pay a few extra bucks for your reserved seat in round 1, or even better, upgrade to a reserve seat for season 2014. Just give the pie, chips and a couple of beers a miss, and you've paid for your reserved seat.
(Very Important Note: For the record, you are still well and truly entitled to your other half dozen beers...)

Just think of what a great spectacle it will be, playing in front of 50,000 at Etihad, and having the best seats in the house. Not to mention that the club will actually make a profit at an Etihad game (for a change).

This season is bringing on expectation and excitement that I haven't felt since the mighty mid-ninety's.

Jump on board and upgrade fellas, its gonna be a season to remember...

I recently bought tickets for the Stones and they had some postage guarantee fee of $14 (optional) on top of everything else. I was a little dumbfounded and chose against it, but it made me wonder how many people do pay these crooks.

Exactly. Would love to know how much the club gets out of these fees. Would bet its nowhere near as much as ticketmaster, etihad, and the afl

It's fairly consistent across all things that ticketmaster sell for. Netball, union, theatre, music, etc. It's generally the same issue when any organisation has a monopoly in some form, Aus Post - another typical example.

Imagine this game was one of the 7 home games that JBs wanted to sell to the map. Or even worse it was one of the make up away games and you were forced to sell your arse to buy a reserved seat for what should be a home match. Brayshaws knows best. :stern look

The big drawing games would be home games I would imagine, then again if we were a puppet then they might want the big games, like when we played Collingwood at Manuka, Carlton on the GC. That was a joke. We then had to play drawing powerhouses like Fremantle and Port Adelaide in Melbourne.

so I have to get an allocated seat that I wont use because I stand... great..

get one in front of where you stand, then you won't have someone's head in the way ;)

i'm tall so no issue ;).. cant sit at games anymore mate. my mates and I tried but it doesnt work we have to be standing and really getting into the game

Doh! Forgot they went on sale this morning. And now ticketmaster is being a pain. Trying to organise tickets for my family + 3 non-members (wife's family) and it's saying we can't book anywhere on level 1  (but will let us book tickets on level 2)

Don't non members GA go on sale Wed?

I want to take my kid who isn't a member (doesn't attend enough games), so curious as to how you got on?

After you entered your membership barcode it asked if you wanted "home" or "public" seating (or something similar). The public option let you buy guest tickets, though the public seats were certainly in different areas to member seats.

how much are we meant to be paying on top I go on ticketmaster and it says a lvl 3 seat is going to cost me an extra $40!!
