We're the worst team in football, claim to be rebuilding, and yet we have our four most recent first round picks not named.

This club makes it impossible to like it sometimes.
2 of them bizarrely not even named in the 2s

Fogarty. Would it really be 'gifting' him a game to wrap your arms around him, let him know you think he'll make it, by selecting him for round 1?

On the back of a summer where he has got himself fit, why not give him first crack? They have created an air of negativity around him now.

There will be people who will say the players are more mature than that and it's all outside noise, I disagree. It's real.

He's starting behind the 8 ball now, when he does come into the team every little thing he does will be scrutinised. He's not being set up to fail but they are making it harder for him when they should be making it easier.

We won the spoon last year, in these circumstances, would we really be criticised for backing in a young player like Fogarty?

Compared to, say, getting a few more games out of Tom Lynch's twilight?

He's one of them.....

Would've targeted DMac TBH but it does seem the coaches are leaning towards younger types.
DMac should be injury sub a lot, perfect for it (based on age and status on our list- know he can come in and play a role, relatively versatile and not wasting development)

As for Frampton though, what the hell would you not reward Himmlers back half of the season?

When you have a clean slate every year you need to go through and figure out again if players that have already proven themselves are actually good

Surely a big watch on Lynch his pre-season has been horrid.

Not sold on Frampton his last game against Port was more his level than those prior.

Murphy once again incredibly lucky - they talk about pre-season form he hasn't played - not sure if we can play Murphy Rowe and Mcadam.
Reckon we'll be pretty conservative this year. Nicks had a bit of leeway last year being a first year coach, the rebuild message, and covid distractions.

This year he can't afford to go to round 15 without a win or he'll probably be out.

So I expect we'll probably tread the well worn path of experience hopefully = wins. Which would show how much he has learned about his players if it pans out that way.

If he goes that route it won't do him or us any favours. The results will be predictable.

Lynch, Walker and Frampton...on the positive, we are in the hunt for Horne.

Lynch is cream on top type of player, when all things are working, he is great to have, as in 2015-2017, he was handy, for the last 3 years...

Sun cream?

Maybe Frampton also in the team because he crashes packs and looks the most likely tall forward in the side capable of taking contested marks,
Note the Crows seemed to have picked a few small forwards, in and under type small forwards, So they need Talls that will crash the pack and bring the ball down, Previous years all we have had leading tall forwards.

When did he start taking contested marks??

This is a very ordinary selection for the opening round of a season, some rewarded for pre-season some forgiven some don't even have to show anything.

Lynch has been utter trash for 2.5 of those 3 seasons.

The best contested marks are sitting in the SANFL. A smart strategy to dominate the local comp.

It really is mental that the bottom team can only field 1 first round draft pick from the last 4 years to kick off a new season.

And McHenry really.

Is this coaches/selectors being s**t or Hamish being s**t?
