Not sure who it will be but i'd imagine i'm in the same boat as you. I'm choosing Markov at 370k over Lukosius 595k. 200k for not much difference in production.who do you imagine is the new kick in specialist?
Bugger. I just booked flights and accomodation for the Carlton game at Metricon (Round 4 i'm pretty sure)PA Hospital in Brisbane in lockdown due to a staff member tested positive for covid, possibly infectious while in community, tracing under way.
Let's see what WA Mark McGowan will do. We may not fly to Perth.
Now a quarantine worker in NSW tested positive. I suspect this AFL season will still be a bumpy ride. Fixture changed regularly. ssmaller and hopefully shorter HUBS still a real possibility especially with McGowan probably closing border with any number of positive cases.
Agree, round 1 is probably the best time to play Eagles. Naitanui and Kennedy had interrupted pre-season too. Naitanui will not play extensive minutes.Interestingly, our recent history against West Coast has been quite good. Check out the last 4 results between the clubs:
R2 2020 - Suns def. Eagles by 44 points @ Metricon Stadium
R7 2019 - Eagles def. Suns by 23 points @ Optus Oval
R4 2018 - Eagles def. Suns by 80 points @ Optus Oval (Premiership season for West Coast)
R11 2017 Suns def. Eagles by 3 points @ Metricon Stadium
2-2 win loss record and the only belting came in the season where the Eagles won the flag. Obviously it's a tough ask to cross the Nullarbor and get a win over West Coast at Optus Oval but this seems like a great opportunity for us to pull off an upset win. Their midfield is weaker due to injuries and they are always a little susceptible to losing a game like this early in a season.
We actually have a good recent record against Fremantle as well:
R4 2020 - Suns def. Dockers by 13 points @ Metricon Stadium
R2 2019 - Suns def. Dockers by 3 points @ Metricon Stadium
R3 2018 - Dockers def. Suns by 28 points @ Optus Oval
R20 2017 - Dockers def. Suns by 23 points @ Domain Stadium
2-2 win loss record again but recent history favours us. Should hold us in good stead for round 13 when we face them.

More or less agree with this. Would have Lemmens over Harbrow though.Fox Sports prediction: Brodie over Macpherson and Harbrow over Lemmens.
GOLD COAST SUNS
B: Connor Budarick, Sam Collins, Jarrod Harbrow
HB: Jack Bowes, Charlie Ballard, Oleg Markov
C: Jack Lukosius, Touk Miller, Lachie Weller
HF: David Swallow, Sam Day, Ben Ainsworth
F: Izak Rankine, Ben King, Alex Sexton
FOLL: Jarrod Witts, Hugh Greenwood, Matt Rowell
I/C: Noah Anderson, Brandon Ellis, Will Brodie, Wil Powell
Will Brodie gets the edge over Darcy Macpherson after a brilliant pre-season. Looks a pretty settled line-up given a relatively slim injury list. The backline boasts plenty of speed if they can get the ball to ground against West Coast’s tall forward line. Sean Lemmens did well on Charlie Cameron during a practice match but is squeezed out given the class of the current set-up.
Yes, most probably spot on. I guess, 99% of SUNS fans would have Harbrow out including me. I really liked Brodie in the pre-season but I worry that we will have too many slow, similar midfielders - Greenwood, Swallow, Brodie. So Brodie out for me and Macpherson/Holman/Flanders in to provide defensive/tackling pressure.More or less agree with this. Would have Lemmens over Harbrow though.
Yeah they are taking the precautionary route with him.Shuey with a hamstring apparently. Now missing both him and Yeo. Couldn’t ask for a better chance for a win in Perth.
I still think Sunday's game is in doubt though. Hopefully QLD get on hold of COVID!
Not playing definitelyNo word on Shueys injury on the AFL app.

Most years, I've been happy to toe the 'development line' of thinking when talking about how we've performed.Surely we’re at a stage in our development where we want to be playing the best sides instead of hoping for a weakened side with injures?
Totally agree,Most years, I've been happy to toe the 'development line' of thinking when talking about how we've performed.
Last year I was happy to accept that while we were losing, we were only barely losing a lot of games, and that it was a big improvement.
If we're not at least challenging for finals this year with a few rounds to go as a bare minimum (and that means beating some of the best teams at full strength when we're playing well) then I'll have run out of excuses for the club.
It's time to see results, and that starts with not needing injuries to key players on the other team to think we're a chance.
