How much can ones reality get checked? A whole game wasted, won’t get that back. Need to start making the tough calls in this club. I wonder if Fog, etc would have got a gig if we did not have the injuries.

Expect some pain early this season and I hope we settle fast and clean out some of the dead wood early.

Out (in order): CEY, Murphy, Greenwood, Fog, Hampton
In: Tex, Lynch, BCrouch, Gibson, Knight

Each of those 5 starred at moments but were a liability or shit at others. Our linkup looked shit without Lynch and we lacked pace and endurance. Played like a team of youngsters that ran out of legs in the last. Shame, we were 20points up and it was our for the taking. Could see it coming from a mile away....

Going to be a solid month until we get decent numbers back, and we have Port and 9th-mond in that time. We could very well be 1-2 or 0-3 based on how we played tonight.

Bcrouch is out for 6-8 weeks with injury, Knight is out for 2-3 weeks with injury.

FOG and Murphy won’t be dropped.

Ultimately folks, this is why you need to win when you make a Grand Final. It's a slow, hard road back - and if you lose a game, who cares because you've won a flag.

Wins and losses will come this season. It's about positioning ourselves in the Top 4 with form and fitness heading in to September.

Anyone still on the Atkins train?????

The biggest f##king soft**** Ive seen continually gifted games at AFL level.

WILL NOT AND REFUSES TO PUT PHYSICAL PRESSURE on his opponent.

Will go down as the biggest bruise free down hill skier in AFL history.

I'd prefer we play a man down than give Atkins any more games.......EVER!!

Needless to say, disappointing last quarter. The new debutants all ran out of legs, a few of our mids are underdone. Hampton out in the last quarter screwed up our chances. Umps weren't good, they lifted their game in the last quarter, and we just couldn't get a free.
Hopefully get back Lynch and a few other cool heads. All is not lost!

Greenwood - Was a mistake to play him.

JJ - Best of our forwards which is a bit sad

Crouch - Same old

Gibbs - Seemed to lack confidence moving the ball forward. Should get better.

Kelly - That was the Kelly of old, not good.

Sloane - Tried his backside off but very fumbly

Seed - Kicking was pretty woeful

Talia - Started ok but got worse

Mackay - Typical game, some good some woeful

Harto - Not his best night

Brown - Torched in the last after a good start

Hampton - Needs to back himself, he was a beautiful kick. Won't see him again.

Betts- The decline is nigh. Stop flying.

Rat - he's lucky we got more injuries

Sauce - Meh

Douglas - See Mackay

CEY - Got better as he adjusted to the pace but not good enough.

Laird - See Crouch

Fog - Battled hard and did nice things but he's nowhere near the fitness yet.

Doedee - Outstanding, but couldn't stop the onslaught.

Gov - Is he believing his own hype. Doesn't do the team things.

Murphy - Battled hard but gassed.

Look, I'm not blaming the umps for the loss, but come on, they were the reason we lost. Again, I'm not blaming them for the loss, just stating the truth that they cost us the win.

Sorry, it's late and I'm tired.

God im so depressed like the amount of money of hard earned saving I spent on getting to the Grandfinal last year only for the team not to turn up and then again tonight the 1st game since then we went in underprepared and unfit and conceded 5 unanswered goals in the last 1/4. My heart can't take this shit anymore...

Another day, another choke.

Sloane invisible when it mattered.

Played some nice football at times, but poor signs for our mental state in the battles ahead.

? Sloane was the only common denominator under every pack in the last quarter.

I don’t think people understand what type and size of player Sloane is.
He is lite. He isn’t Danger, Kennedy, Cripps, Bont etc and won’t ever be that guy to rip an opposition midfield to shreds.

Our midfield rotation changed in the last quarter.

Not too fussed about tonight. I’d consider it an extension of the JLT.

-Umpires shocking but that’s something we need to accept and deal with.
-Eddie Betts hang your head in shame you little champ. You started playing more for your highlight real than you did for your side from @ the bye last season and it looks as though you’ve hit the smokes and donuts a bit hard over preseason. You are a bloody crumbing forward FFS. Stop taking our players out of the contest in your efforts toward another car.
-Greenwood was a poor selection. Obviously way underdone.
-Gov struggled. Agree with Redlegs. People dump on Lever for being made to look good. Nothing has ever made me think any different of Gov. Some freakish talent but will never be a superstar lone Key forward of the game ala Tex, Daniher, Cameron,Lynch even though he can fly like an eagle.
- Gibbs showed his class but also showed exactly what he it. I.e a classy predominantly outside mid who needs inside ballwinners to feed him. Good first up effort I thought. star
-JJ did alright. Nothing more nothing less.
- Impressed by Dougies game all round and I’m one of his biggest critics.
- Brown I’ve always thought was overrated as a defender. Enough said.
- Murphy played his role.
-Fogarty will be a Star.
-Dude may make me eat my words. Still don’t consider him like for like with Lever but he will be a player. Would prefer both Lever and him in the side. Should have happened last season.

We look unfit. We look uncohesive on every line. We look poorly drilled.
All things concidered, I think we played exactly the way we should have been expected to play.

Meh game. Not hitting the panick button just yet,

We've won 1 close game in 18 months to Carlton (2 or less goals).

Going to miss Lever but liked Kelly.

Fitness clearly an issue.

Sloane the only one who looked like doing anything in the last, everyone else was cooked or had no urgency.

Our bottom 5 is weak as piss, excusing Fog and Murphy. Jenkins (first spoil in his career was against Hampton), Douglas, Greenwood, Atkins, MaKay. Betts is soft, him and Jenkins are always our worst when we're under siege.

Pretty poor management to have half our best 22 out of the team round 1. Take Lynch and Brodie Smith out and we are an fairly average side. Gov and eddie need to do more, both totally out of form along with jenkins who lacks heart. Atkins is a total downhill skier, always likes it on his terms. Mackay tried but its david mackay. Talia and hartigan major worries, talia has no offensive aspect to his game. Hampton is not afl quality, feel he will go the way of menzel. Long way to go but the first half of the season is crucial, sooner we get players back the better.

So we have a massive list of quality outs.

What’re the causes of the injuries?

Bad luck or mismanagement?

Genuine question, I haven’t paid much attention in the off season.
Both IMO
