Lynch plays and I think we win that, just a massive loss, especially with Tex also out (who can be quite good between the arcs too). Thought we did well to stay in it for so long, always thought Essendon were playing better. No shame in that loss, move onto Richmond at home. This team were very good at rebounding from losses last year (which didn’t happen often mind you), so expect a fierce showing next Thursday.

We got bashed by NM and them prison showered by the Dees at home, I disagree.

We didn’t lose because of our gameplan. We’ve got a heap of players out and we played Essendon at Etihad and they constantly do that to teams.

Think about it this way, we just played an away game to a top 8 team with a bunch of key players missing.
In both the grand final and tonight all of our kicks were desperate, blind hacks forward under intense pressure from the opposition. We weren't able to create any space while the opposition created plenty. Why the similarity between the two matches, considering the different ground, opposition, and team line-up?

we just cant take marks in our 50, poor delivery and players that cant clunk it, we are in a world of pain until this is rectified. At the other end of the park they were catching everything.

This bs should have been sorted out over a bloody long summer, not after R1.

Tex underdone. Not sure about Lynch, no Gibson. Hampton looked to have his groin iced, and Douglas could be suspended. 6 day break off a very very hard ground on Thursday night.

Tigers coasted in the 4th. No issues. Played great JLT too.

Like to take you on friendly HH and challenge your thinking.

We must’ve missed the part where we were 20 points up at 3/4 time.....

Absolutely nothing like the GF at all. The level of pressure for one thing was very different.

I would seriously argue that the Dons should have kicked us away early. Poor kicking by them, should have been 4-5 goals in front tbh.

Just got back from the game. Before the bounce, I didn't think we were going to win this one. We're coming off a scratchy pre-season with a ton of injuries and we look underdone. When we were 20 points up, I thought we needed 3 goals to win...we kicked 3 points. The trick was always going to be stopping Essendon's run. We did that - just - for the first half through great pressure. The third quarter, Essendon dropped off and our ball movement suddenly looked slick. Last quarter, we were cooked, Bombers lifted enough and we couldn't sustain the pressure that had impeded them in the first half. I reckon you can blame injuries and not-quite-fit players for that. It was disappointing but we never had the game won and the result was predicted by many - bookies included.

Not the end of the world but we'll struggle for a few weeks I'd say.

This clash has been festering in us for months. I could find you a thousand games were a team has faced everything you’ve listed above and then some and still won.

This is all you need to know:

The game is at AO
Tex is embarrassed
Team just come off a heartbreaking loss
Coach has just ripped them a new arseh*le
50k screaming Crows fans
REVENGE
REDEMPTION

No way.

I listen to K Rock as they’re the best commentary team around and we were dominating the stats. Bombers got a run on as they’ve done a million times before against an underdone team with several youngesters in an away game. Hardly surprising. Bet on the Bombers tonite and took us to win the third quarter.

Saw the Bombers +20.5 at 3/4 time and thought yep. Couldn’t get a bet on though.

Just for the record, I respect your punting. Im just giving an argument for balance. All cool.

Tex is so out of form in terms of no preseason, he will be a liability.
Not sure fans can take us home, otherwise Power would have been a better team.
You may be surprised past two GF rematches have led to the winner winning it again.

Crows are mentally shot from that GF.

Highlight of the night was not wearing one of these:

Every option there is atrocious. Why do we still persist with the pterodactyl logo? That is not a logo to build a brand around.

On the game, we need to get games and a tank into Fog as a priority, he will turn games on their head at his best, which would've been seriously useful tonight. Haven't seen Marty so far tonight either which means what most thought, Doedee looks to be no dud, took a quarter to work into the game but was seriously impressive from there on out, he'll be retaining his spot. Let's be realistic, missing 7 first choice players, playing 3 debutantes and losing by 12 points away from home against a top 8 team is definitely not the worst thing that could've happened tonight. I will take that over the 48 point drubbing with a near full squad I kept having vietnam style flashbacks of before the first bounce.

It would be different if we fielded our best 22 and lost, I could see how we can improve and beat Richmond.

But we have issues all over the ground. Thats not even counting the heavy loss of players post GF and the mental scars of the GF too.
I hope we beat richmond but if i was putting money on the match it would not be on the crows. We are a wounded bird currently. Our best hope is that we are 6w 4l after week 10. By then we should be hopefully flying high.

Except it won't be revenge or redemption. It will be a round 2 victory for us vs a Premiership for them.. assuming we win. :'(

I would go so far to say that Carlton would have rolled us at the G if we played them in R1. Thats scary.
