I just checked out the fixture for my family's 2026 tipping contest, and I see that carl Syd Dogs Hawks Geel Coll Suns all play twice between the 05/03/2026 and 15/03/2026 which is ten days then North Port Melb then, the Saints Suns appear with their 2nd game
I get this is done because there are byes following on the next week before round 2 .
Anyone explain why there is this absolute confusion for a dill like me to try and set up my tipping sheets, which I do every year but these starting points are damned mixed up and confusing.
Wouldn't it be fairer to have a weekend totally off for every team during the season so every one gets a rest. And play the season round by round. Like normal.
I''ll figure it out, but really it used to be a round every week, now who gets the next set of bye's and when, and well, footy used to be easy. I give up trying to finish the fixture I see only about 2 thirds of the season are guaranteed so far?
I am starting to believe the AFL have gone troppo, and deliberately confuse everybody.
