Ffs, what is your issue with hawthorn? Reckon you spend more time bashing everything hawthorn than you do supporting north
Huh! I don't think I've said anything about Hawthorn this year, either Men's or Women's.

Gonna struggle to get this game finished in time for the main event.

Highest scoring game is the 148 points recorded by Port and GC at Alberton earlier this year, btw.

And here comes Tahau!

Need 2 more goals from Hawthorn to break the record for highest losing score (currently 61, held by Geelong in their loss to Hawthorn last year).

Hawks conceded 94pts against a team that needs a miracle to play finals. They aren't finals quality and definitely don't deserve to finish in the top 4.

There you go Mitchell Madness that is me having a real go at the Hawks. :)

So the AFLW didn't bother delaying the start of the Eagles game by 2 minutes so the games didn't overlap meaning the first bounce was missed on Fox Footy. Amateur hour stuff. The trots and dogs can even get this right.

Theyre commentating from the studio. Still, better than kelli underwood
People may say this, but Houghton has kicked all of Boag's goals and more if you believe the commentary, only player they can recognise?

Anyway, hope that game was a wake up call for Hawks, probably their worst defensive performance of last two seasons, don't often see Everist and Richardson beaten so easily.

Also ideally need a midfield plan thats a bit more complex than "kick it towards Aine".

At the start of the season, I predicted Geelong making a PF, but they aren't going to make the finals. They are the biggest disappointment in my opinion.

That's the thing about standing still. Other mobs further back are travelling at 100km/h, but you don't even notice them until it's too late.

Been a commanding performance by West Coast and the former Geelong coach.

PA v Haw votes

Hall of fame
3 - Indy Tahau
Did most of her damage in the 2nd half, which was still important because Ashleigh Woodland kept dropping easy marks in D50 to let Hawthorn back in the game.
2 - Abbey Dowrick
Bit of a joke how much time and space she had out there.
1 - Matilda Scholz
Dominant performance against the hard-trying performance of Mackenzie Eardley, the Katelyn Cox of rucks.

Hall of shame
1 - Amelie Borg
Harsh on the 43-gamer, but she had too many horror last-line-of-defence moments to excuse. And she had 3 goals kicked on her by a 40-game key forward who can't take an overhead mark.
2 - Greta Bodey & 3 - Kaitlyn Ashmore
Free-flowing, high-scoring game in pristine conditions against mid-ladder opposition. It was the perfect opportunity for these two fleet-footed, skilful senior players to shine. But they still looked like a couple of kiddies waiting for a handwritten invitation to win the footy.

WCE v Geel votes

Best
3 - Bella Lewis
This was very much a "not gonna rely on Ella to do it all" performance from the get-go.
2 - Ella Roberts
At one point later on in the match, with ball in hand, seemingly sought out Georgie Prespakis to hit her with a don't argue. If that doesn't sum up what the Eagles thought of the Cats' competitiveness...
1 - Emma Swanson
Better return from some of the olds made a massive difference. Lauren Wakfer and Lucia Painter also very good. Gunjaca best on for Geelong.

Worst
Apologies to Aishling Moloney who was bullied into submission, Kate Surman who continues to build up her pile of easy misses, and Rebecca Webster for constantly running under the footy.
1 - Georgie Rankin
Obviously having a career-best year but this was a backwards step.
2 - Jacqui Parry
Super soft tonight.
3 - Erica Fowler
To repeat, I'm no member of the Meg McDonald cheersquad, unlike half the media. But if you select her to be your captain, she's gotta be playing ahead of somebody who wasn't even good enough for last year's wooden spooners.

Seems like it'll be Sydney's day when Lexi Hamilton misses a pass to Montana Ham by the width of a barn door, and the footy lands in the hands of Holly Cooper in a better spot... But then a lasso free gets paid against them for the opposition kicking the ball out!

Wind coming and going, but it's going to be favouring the Dees this quarter, too.

First defensive effort by Sydney is generally good, then a bit of my-work-is-done-here attitude manifests.

Costly when you're dealing with say Shelley Heath, who sets up a passage at half-back and then finishes off the play with a goal from 10m out.

tHere's what a fair dinkum analyst would say: "With the list they have, Geelong should be winning their last 3 games. And if they don't, the coach should be fired." Acting as though it's already impossible for them to finish in the 8 just looks like a pre-emptive attempt to cushion any warranted criticism if/when the team does underperform.
Geelong are no good. People that think they should be good obviously look at their upper end talent and think they'll be super. Their depth is horrible and they have way too many players playing that don't impact. Even Crockett-Grills and Dunlop out hurts.

Prespakis gets tagged and a good match up on Moloney. No chance of winning.

FYI in your match previews instead of going "team A might win this one or alternatively team B might also win" why not put your tip out and margin. Virtually every preview is a masterclass in fence sitting.

They lost an away prelim to the premiers by 4 points in 2023. Had a strong record against the top 3 teams last year, missed finals with a bad run of injuries.

Haven't had any notable players depart, but yeah somehow their list is suddenly garbage now. Makes sense.
