Assuming Scrim for TB.

Keen to see Nairn. Moore is on this ice.

Chol a chance?
Burge said Chol has to get through training next week and they will assess and Round 10 or Round 11 return from there.

I’m worried.

We’re going to be without TB and Gunston, and Newcombe is playing very sore. Best mid, best forward and defensive anchor all hampered or missing.

Melbourne have always caused us trouble. Gawn will prevent our two rucks from protecting our midfield, and we don’t have an answer to Pickett. Not many clubs do. Fast ball movement to fleeter options forward has caused us problems across the last two years, and that's Melbourne's MO.

Melbourne are more vulnerable than other (current) top 8 sides at conceding scores due to their offensive nature. I don't think they will be able to maintain the discipline that CWood and Fremantle had when defending our ball movement, which will give us looks. We need to ensure we are taking our chances, and practically all our forwards will need to perform better than they did against Fremantle.

Not to worried about Demons, only a few weeks ago they lost to the scum

We’re not necessarily without Gunston, let’s wait for scan results.

Even so, I like Lewis as the focal point, as we saw what he can do when he has had to step into that role when Gunston had the hammy scare a few weeks back.
Maybe Dear is a chance too, we will know more at the week progresses.

Scrim has to come in for a TB you’d think. Mraz’s kicking is what holds him back for mine.

Not sure we’d make more than the forced changes at this point.

Has this been confirmed? He did come back on, and Sam said he had a corked foot.

Scrim, Perez, Hill, Nairn, McCabe, Schubert, Dalton all potentially in the frame.

We probably can’t afford to rest Newk if he’s able to get up, he’ll play. Gunners a question obviously. I’d give Ryan another run.

I think Scrim’s best position is 2nd key tall (not intercepting defender), so he’d be my first choice for TB.

I’m not sure if Rama gets another go - he played ok, but the forward line did not work in the 2nd half.

Croc gets a do-over with runs on the board this year.

Moore is the biggest concern: is he doing what Sam wants and I’m not seeing it, or is he having a bad patch?

Problem with Lewis as the focal point is we miss his link up play as a CHF.

We really don't have anyone else that can play his role apart from an untried Schubert.

Scrim for TB
McCabe for Ramsden
Hill for Moore
Schu for Gunner (if unfit)

McCabe is more mobile than Ramsden and Sch to play out of the sqaure.

Lewis plays higher as a link up.

Hill worth a shot - been in really good form

I would keep Bodie

PS Assuming Dear still out. Also wouldnt mine Dalton for Hill either

Need to win to keep pace with the top 2.

Gunston and Chol fitness considerations important. If both available, Chol in for Ramsden. Otherwise one of McCabe Schubert or Dear (if fit) for Ramsden.

Scrimshaw for Barass is obvious change. Dees forward line not a major threat in terms of talls

I’d give Nairn or Dalton a game playing wing, with Weddle back, and drop Moore. He consistently doesn’t perform against good sides.

Dees at MCG are a very different side. If we are off, they will get us. They play a good brand. Kozzie’s pace in the middle will be hard to manage.

If Gunston plays I think they will really struggle to contain us though.

Agree with this, cool heads will prevail. Thank goodness our BF board doesn’t select the side, we’d have 15 changes a week.

My only query is whether Ramadan stays? Wasn’t terrible, but also didn’t have a great game

This is a very very fast team - I don't rate their defence but their mids and forwards are a challenge - I think we need speed in defence so Perez should come in with Weddle playing a Key defender role - Ryan, Perez and Butler all should play and I think either Nairn or Hill should make a debut. Don't think Rama showed enough up forward though one week in Perth is a hard sample size - It would depend on whether or not Gunston gets up but Schubert also has to be a chance and Or we could go small and play Dalton again

Gawn is going to spend a bit of time forward with Mihocek being out and them playing Heath I would think. That is a real worry with Barrass out.

Not too sure what we do there. Don't think we can afford to have Mraz matching up for parts of the game on a monster like Gawn so unsure if he comes in but then its basically Scrim or nothing.
Wonder if maybe we go with playing Sic in the Barrass role and have Scrim/Battle on Jefferson/Van Rooyen?
