Completely different St Leonards. The one to which I refer is between Portarlington and Queenscliff on the Bellarine Peninsula in Victoria. Sort of a shanty village.

I've stayed at Portarlington when catching the ferry from Queenscliff but doubt too many Port Adelaide supporters have been to St Leonards on the Bellarine Peninsula.

The St Leonards Inn was infamous in its day but is now the Watermark and there's a sports bar where the disco used to be.

2020 they got Jones. 2021 they got Sinn. In 2022 they traded for JHF who at 1 year of experience was essentially bringing in another first round pick to the club. 2023 was a bad trade period given what they paid for Soldo and Ratugolea in particular, though the latter is having a very good season imo and looks to have found his niche down back. Then they invested heavily in last year's draft, acquiring Berry and Whitlock with high picks.

Every list has holes, and if you looked at each list forensically, I don't think any of us would come to the conclusion that Port's list management has held them back from contending.

He's just trying to change the narrative to a list one and not a Hinkley one again.

He’s undoubtedly wrong and diverting again, but I challenge any current paying member to suggest they aren’t a bigger problem than a few words Kornes says in the media. Money talks louder than words and not enough “Port people” have done the right thing by abandoning this regime. Koch understands dollars, he doesn’t understand football.

In the distance I saw a dishevelled unshaven gentleman walking towards me. My fist thought was he was homeless. My first thought was this person was going to ask me for some money and I thought do I do a good deed for the day and help someone down on their luck out with a few bucks. Instead they walked straight past me and I then realised it was Rucci.

Just feels strange to think this is the person who is probably penning an article for the Port Website as we speak telling us what a wonderful job the club is doing and how great Ken is.

The one thing I will say about Jimmy tho is he doesn't seem to ever link this directly back to old Geelong mate Hinkley. Like he wants to say what he's seeing, but doesn't want to burn Hinkley too badly. It kind of gets left with the players, not the person who created the mind set. This isn't the first time he has (justifiably) torched Port, but stopped short.

He was a print journalist and now he's on radio, neither career known for much more than jeans and a t-shirt. He strikes as being very much into his work and possibly doesn't do much else but work. I don't know him though so maybe I've got that completely wrong.
