Now we’re getting there played 103 games too and has a good nose for a goal, whilst we’re at it no harm in trying out Kennedy and Lang too.
They may just help our engine room a little. Rest the Whippets for a week or two , they need it.
Not sure about Lang. ....too light frame...I wanna see strong bodies with some weight behind them

Dow needed that break about a month ago. Not having a good year.

Apart from last week, Dow was having a good year for a 19 year old midfielder getting obscene amounts of centre square starts.

Coaching staff need to do him and the other young mids a favour and get them the * out of there for longer periods.

He's a burst midfielder who can do what nobody else on our list is capable of and explode out of a stoppage. But we're asking him to play Dangerfield minutes now, it's ridiculous.

He doesn't need to get dropped. The organisation of the midfield needs to ******* change.

Wouldn't be against giving Dow a spell in the 2's.

He'd be exhausted. Interrupted pre season, heavy midfield minutes, extra training with his kicking, bit of media bashing. Going back to the VFL and enjoying his footy and dominating could be good for him.

SPS needs to lift, he really is our barometer. 50 games in and realistically he's had 2 standout ones (v Collingwood in 2017 and v WB this year). If we had better depth I'd flirt with dropping him back.

Setterfield looks way off it - absolutely thrilled he is playing at all but like Dow, wouldn't hurt to dominate in the VFL.

It's likely none of the above will happen but eh.

Took this from a St Kilda poster so not sure it's 100% accurate...but if true means Saints are basically as young/inexperienced as us and will be missing more key players if we get Simmo and Plowman back. So really there's no excuses for losing this week.

"Both teams had 17 players under 100 games, and both teams only had only 6 players aged 25 or over.

We were less experienced as we had 8 players with less than 20 games, they had 5.

But they were a younger with 11 players 21 or under, to our 4.

Overall its pretty close though, and neither team will really be able to claim too much of a difference.

Also as an FYI, missing from a current clear best 22 last week (can probably argue a few more young players around the edges, but just noting the obvious):
Saints: Steven, Hanners, Roberton, Carlisle, Geary, JWebb, Lonie"

Not sure about this but if your quote..

“But they were a younger with 11 players 21 or under, to our 4”

tinny - how many times - there are no games we must win - just setting ourselves up to crash and burn - we go do our best, stick to our principles and beliefs and back each other in - we are a good chance - this big game, must win, line in the sand stuff is way too much pressure on a young team

I'd be satisfied with one more win in 2019. Just one.

Otherwise, let's just go out there and be competitive and play with some pride and enthusiasm.
