As someone who knows stuff all about NRL, can anyone explain to me why the Roosters are such short favorites with the bookies to beat the Titans, given their respective standings on the ladder?

Because they will win, their spot now is a myth, see where these two teams are at end of year, one will make 8, other will be bottom 3...
