VFL Game Day Round 10: Essendon vs Coburg, Windy Hill, Sunday 19/05/2022 @ 11:35 AM

The winless Dons come up against Coburg, who have only won one game for the season so far in what many would call a cripple fight. The battle of the north west has had 7 clashes, with Coburg winning 2 and Essendon 5, and if form is any indication we won't know who wins this one, with both sides losing their last 5 games.

The Bombers struggled offensively against Richmond, but held up defensively as they only lost by 33 points and held the Tigers to 10 goals 19 in the annual dream time curtain raiser. Cody Brand had his best game for the club, collecting 24 disposals against a pretty good Richmond defense whilst Brayden Ham had 20 disposals and a goal in 3 quarters playing through the midfield before getting held over as an emergency.

Coburg got jumped by 8 goals to 3 in the first quarter and never recovered from that, going down by 31 points against Sydney. Brother of Hawthorne's Ben, Peter McEvoy was the standout forward kicking 4 goals against Lewis Melican whilst Flynn Gentile had 24 disposals and 2 goals playing in the middle, and defender Charlie Thompson was at his creative best off half back.

My most dreaded game for the year, never know who to support on the day (but usually ends up as Coburg). Coburg by 17 in a tight one.

I was wondering what happened to him.

First game?

Possible side, not known.
Date in the thread title has a typo.

Also, nice work on constructing the possible side. A quick look at it tells me it's lacking midfielders.

Back in it but whenever we go forward we seem to be kicking it straight to the opposition most of the time.

Nick Bryan outstanding. He doesn't belong in this trash VFL team.
His taps go towards an Essendon player who stands still and watches Coburg take it away.

They are also playing an extra back.

Oh no - this is the Ethan game - where he proves that he barracks for someone harder than Essendon AND is a closet Hawkes fan!!!
I love both clubs
