Autopsy Round 10 vs GWS plus changes for Essendon

Haven't seen the game just listened on the radio but just saw the highlights of Jack's 11. Pretty similar to his 10 against WCE too, when he gets on his bike and leads at the ball carrier he is unbelievable, and all of sudden those body on body marks start sticking and the ball falls his way. At his best when he is running hard is Jacky.
And he earned them too instead of being gifted three goals like kennedy did two weeks ago.

Out: Jackson (inj)
In: Miles

Give Ivvy another week.
Nailed it. Completely agree.

Hampson did more than enough to hold his spot. Was great in the ruck and took marks around the ground.

The reason we scored so heavily is we played fast, attacking, play on, 2013-esque football. This is the way we need to play for the remainder of the year.

Great effort by the boys today, responded well ( funny how we seem to do it interstate ) I mentioned earlier that we would find out in the first qtr the mindset of the team, well they set the tone in that qtr and as for Jack, responded with 11 to stick it up the media who were hell bent on making him look like a dropkick even asking if he would be at tigerland in 2015, well I think he answered that question, now watch the media jump on his bandwagon.

Average sides don't win by 113 pts when under the pump, more often than not they lose.

Commiserations to the posters who will be spewing tonight.
But you've had a pretty good run at it so far this year.

Today highlighted it but Dustin Martin is the blood that pumps thru this footy side.

Has been leading the way all year with his attacking run and ball movement. Takes risks, gets pinged occasionally, but takes it on anyway. Should be an inspiration to his team mates.

And that 70m pass to JR was just sublime. Jeez it's an asset to have him and Griff that can kick like that, gets it over the lines every time to a 1v1

This board last Thursday night:

THIS IS BULLSHIT!!! THOMAS BACK IN!!!! LLOYD OUT!!!!! GRIGG AND HAMPSON KEEPING THEIR PLACE IN THE TEAM!!!! DIMMA HAS NO ******* CLUE!!!! HE NEEDS TO KEEP PLAYERS ACCOUNTABLE!!!! I'M ******* FINISHED WITH THIS TEAM. I CAN HANDLE LOSING BUT WHEN WE DROP KIDS FOR OLD HACKS THAT WE KNOW ARE SHIT THAT'S THE FINAL STRAW!!!!!! THESE CHANGES ARE WEAK AS PISS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS THE WORST TEAM ALL YEAR!!!!**** YOU DIMMA, **** YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!

This board post game:

Jackson out with injury. Other than that no changes

memories of goldfish dude, memories of goldfish....

That type of performance is one that Richmond is well known for, when all is said and done we come out when it matter least and belt a cellar dweller and it gets people thinking all is right again. It will mean nothing if come next weekend in the Dreamtime game where there is 60k+ in the stands we perform like we did against Melbourne again. People will say that it was only GWS and they are right, we need to perform the way we did today against the sides above us on the ladder otherwise today means sweet **** all.

The pleasing thing today is that I think you could count on one hand the amount of backwards kicks that slowed down the movement of the ball. Now next week against Essendon a side that will be better drilled we need to be able to move the ball that way again. If we make mistakes we make mistakes, as Deledio said after the game they were told that positive mistakes are acceptable. Making mistakes by being overly negative just puts us under more and more pressure and gets the oppositions confidence up.

Heading into next weeks game I'd go with the following change:
Out: Jackson
In: Lloyd

I know everyone wants Miles in but IMO Lloyd was unlucky to be dropped and travelled with the side as the emergency so was obviously close to retaining his spot and we would be better served by having Lloyd as the sub rather than going with Miles as the sub.

B: Dea Grimes Chaplin
HB: Houli Rance McDonough
C: Ellis Thomas Conca
HF: Deledio Griffiths Martin
F: Morris Riewoldt Vickery
R: Hampson Cotchin Foley
INT: Grigg S.Edwards Lennon
SUB: Lloyd.
Fair enough RT but we don't do 100 point wins often.
A win by 40 odd would have been crap.

Spewing? Not really. Keeping it in perspective? Definitely.

I was behind the bench for the first quarter, and when Jack came off he was limping and grabbing at his groin. Went down stairs, did lots of stretches, went back out, and in short order was basically hobbling back to the bench

I can't see him coming back from that, so Miles for him

Next one is Cotch. Not sure how it looked on TV, but he looked like a man trying to fly the flag - and that was it. No penetration in his kicking, his usual zip gone. IMO he is definitely carrying something, and just IMO, but I think he's playing just because right now the boys need their leader

I want him out there, but if he needs rest, give it to the boy.

If Cotch is out, which mids stood up at VFL today?

Did anyone else have the feeling that Titch wanted to send a bit of a message today? He laid some HUGE hits on the opposition

BTW I was one of those who didn't think we could step up today, happy to concede I was wrong on two counts

1) there is still fight in that team. They were playing on, and with confidence today. Hopefully it continues

2) someone posted this and was roundly ignored by all (including me), but sides rarely win with as many changes as the GWS made. Kudos to them, GWS just were not humming today at all, and I dare say that had a lot to do with it

Only a small win today, but very happy to be wrong

in front of goals...

what a turnaround!!
accuracy,
loving the contest,
I thought Mumford would kill us but Hampson - game of his career. So involved. Marks handball. More of that next week please. Liked Vicks in the ruck too.
Master stroke with Morris up fwd. ...do that again!!!

would've liked to Dea to back himself a bit more. hopefully next week.
Rance - great and Chaplin not bad either..

I reckon we should do more of whatever we did at training this week next week

Interesting question to start off, did Dimma take over the forward line coaching this week? Got a glimpse of him with the forwards at half time and the way we played up forward seemed completely different... Like we actually knew what we were doing... I don't know could have just been how shit GWS were?

It's funny it was Grigg's best game of the year for two reasons; He shut down GWS's best player and he didn't get a lot of the ball. I think Grigg has to be considered only a tagger from this point on. When he isn't running loose slowing the play up and bombing it into the forward 50 we look so much better but he actually has the ability to keep a player quiet without really noticing him doing it (hence no free kicks against him).

We probably were flat track bullies today but they didn't even look that useless against West Coast. We dried them up and fried them.

Hardwick seemed to make some good choices today. Morris up forward to shut down Shaw is a really good idea, and needs to be used against many of our good opponents. I don't think he allowed the other team to get a loose man in defence which IMO was the main reason we lost last week. While not every week I think Morris should play on the better of the other teams small forward or their running half back.

Foley looked reasonably good again and with any luck might just find himself as a permanent best 22.

Thomas was good but I'm not sure it would have worked as well if Jackson was fit.

Hampson was good enough to give Maric the time he needs to get close to 100% before returning.

Chaplin responded well also.

The remainder of the team all looked worthy this week.

I just hope we can do something special from here.. If we can't and we lose the next couple, the likes of Thomas, Foley, Grigg, Hampson, Chaplin should start making way for some youth. Hardwick should also still be under the pump. It sounds pessimistic but if GWS was just a win because it was GWS than there should be no less heat on anyone. Only time will tell, very happy with today though!!

If Cotch and Jacko go out then Miles would be the obvious choice.. with one of Arnot/Helbig to come in I rekon.. wouldn't be suprised to see Petterd back in though..

How did they look in the VFL (havent hit that thread yet)?

Despite what some may think I am wrapt with the way we played.

I tipped GWS but sure as hell didn't punt on them.

We did well but I haven't forgiven the players or coaches yet but they can only beat who is in front of them.
I won't even call them flat track bullies.

I will however give credit where it is due. Chaplin, Hampson, Houli, Vickery and Grigg played well, did their roles.
The question is, can they back it up? I hope so.

I'm glad the Dreamtime game now has something at stake. Our season is on the line..., again. Massive game.

Now if only Collingwood lose and those turds doing press red for Ed will be in tears - it will be the perfect day.

I take it you mean Jacko?

BTW I know we have been a divided board recently, but surely we can unite for this one?

Who has forgotten the game we kicked 3 goals in the entire day against this scum, and were treated like Butters at the NAMBLA meeting (sorry for those who don't watch south park)?

Who still doesn't watch the replay of the '95 semi when on the work bench with the missus?

We have copped more grief and misery from this bunch of pretentious pretty boy supporters than any other mob (because our fall mirrored their ascent), and I want to see their supporters go home crying to mummy next weekend

So lets put aside the shit, the fighting, and get on board the LETS BEAT THE CRAP OUT OF ESSENDON FFS!!!!

Some wally posted during the week that Sheds is soft and lazy - 2 things he definitely is not.
