last Thursday we had freo v pies in prime time. Absolute boring game plan by JL, players showed no dash or class, a list built a year before us.

We bit the bullet and upgraded Dew, for an exciting fun fast moving game plan. It was really classy and evenly spread tonight.

Neutrals said we had an easy draw now we’ve beaten two top 4 sides in a row.

We look good, it is fun footy, and the group we got have all bought in. You beauty
easy draw!!!!!! how about 5 of their last 6 games at the MCG for the Pies and only 6 games interstate all year...that's an easy draw.....

The fellas who deserve our undividinf attention is the defence.
Sarge Collins, point break uwland and powelly were huge in critical moments. The fellas may and well truly be ON
They have been rock solid this year, besides Charlie going down the back 7 has been unchanged. Credit to themselves, chemistry building

Absolutely. In the first quarter I don’t think I saw them make one error.

Collins has been almost unbeatable this year and if we continue to play well could be in at least the extended AA squad. Definitely playing like peak Collins.

Obviously Noble and Rioli do their thing. But then either Jeffrey or Powell have a good game in alternation and both can be elite kicks and are very reliable marks.

Uwland has been very consistent. Got a bit cute last night with some decisions, but I think that just comes from our “pedal to the metal” mentality. Powell gets caught sometimes holding the ball. Jeffrey too can make some blunders. Noble might run into trouble or shank a kick after busting free. Rioli has to take the game on and might not always have anywhere to go.

Players are going to make mistakes in any game. But a lot of ours seem symptomatic of the way we want to play. We push up high. We try to chain out of defence. We transition quickly. And more often than not we do rebound and get forward, and there is a clear system to it.

Our defence is why we are winning games.

Nice to hear Dimma mention the clean contributions from Rosas in crunch fourth quarter moments tonight after having a quiet first half. I'm hoping this means Mally stays in the team beyond these Darwin games.
If we being honest. Mally didn’t deserve his spot in the side 2 weeks ago.
BUT coming into the side and being up in Darwin has prob rejuvenated the kid.
He was prob zapped of confidence running around in the 2s but now given the chance and playing with a great team around him.
His traits tend to really stand out.
He hasn’t really hit the scoreboard to hard, his kicking has been a tad wayward but some of his little touches or pressure really does change the direction of the game.

As a previous regular red eye overnight flyer, i switched to morning flight next day more recently.
The red eyes you are wrecked the whole next day anyway.
Wonder if they considered a 10 am flight rather than overnight (particularly if today is just a day off for them)

I also suspect some of their mistakes after 1/2 time last night came because there was no movement upfield and no obvious target to kick to. End up trying to do a bit too much b/c there is no clear option upfield. When there was an option it was go go go.

More of a '2nd game in Darwin off a 5 day break' issue than something sympomatic. Lots of gassed players and when Touk is cramping you know that everybody has run out of legs.

From Dimma’s comments about Mally over the past couple of weeks, it’s reassuring to know he appreciates Mally is a very special talent but knows we need to keep working to help Malcolm get the best out of himself and benefit the team the most.

John Noble…Probably the Best Traded Player we’ve gotten in the last 5 years. Daniel Rioli as well. ❤️💛🤘☀️☀️

Moyle. Not much impact, so brought Spitta on to inject a bit more run into the team. Worked
I really liked the strategy of bringing Moyle in for the chop out and then subbing him off. Wittsy finished with a dominant final quarter, so that's your payoff. The big man is playing AA standarde, so nice to have some support to get through the game and offer something different to Ethan Read.

Question from a casual suns fan...

Why does Noble play the distribution role instead of Rioli who would definitely be better at it, is he needed elsewhere?
he keeps showing up. If any other player offered as much support they'd be having similar efficiency. Rioli and Powell are getting similar ball, but not as often even though they seem to use it better. Nobes just smashes it forward sometimes to let the forwards scramble for it, which could better but is working out much of the time.

I have to say it's pretty hard for me to watch these close games. I almost switched to radio.

That was a great game from both teams.

I was most pleased with the 4th quarter response after Hawks comeback. I had some doubt we can come back. But players digged very deep and delivered. Not easy to do on 5 days break in Darwin, 3 games in 11 days.

Metal to pedal and no brakes, haha.

These 2 wins should give players confidence. Let's see how far they can go. Lyon's defence is coming.

You could say it would be nice to put teams away when we have them on the ropes. Hopefully, it comes with experience.

Hawks milking for free is bloody annoying and hard to watch. Newcombe spin after Miller minor contact.

As I hoped, midfield dominated clearances. All players delivered there and had their moments. Only in 3rd quarter we lost contested ball when Hawks lifted.

You could talk about all players but I would like just to mention Swallow. He had miserable previous game but delivered a couple of clutch moments.

Great marks.

Fantastic Long.

Enjoy.

Hi all.
Wow wee great game.
You guys have such an exiting time to be supporters.
It is so much like our 2019 year , first year in finals for myself as a member since 2012 , top four throughout the year and playing exiting footy.
Tbh it is probably my favourite year of footy, apart from last years grand final of course.
Yes savour this year.
Also glad to see Rosas get involved after being a bit quiet.
Was he a bit saw at some stage , thought he was limping slightly.
Having said that what a forward line, it's only going to get better with each game.
just on the Umpiring.
I thought you were robbed a few times with the marks not been paid, pay the mark for crying out loud.
Swings and roundabouts maybe?
Enjoy the weekend

Way too early to put a curse on.
We’ve got a history of falling apart after Darwin.

There are many challenges ahead of us yet.

Onto recovery now and then St Kilda at Marvel.
You had to say the M word:mad:
I reckon THAT word should be like not mentioning the name of The Bard when performing Hamlet or MacBeth
We are playing at Docklands,The Hole in the Ground, The Freezer, the Shit Hole,The Long Drop not at effing M*****

Super sub.
Really think Spitta works as a sub cause you can throw him anywhere
And capable of upgrading to a forward flank if injuries hit
Keeping my fingers crossed that he can make the sub bench for a final if we get there
I'd nearly be happy to lose if it meant Dave running on for a final for us

Gotta hand it to him
100 minutes of barely being visible but does the incredible and we're all on the Jed Train
Toot Toot

I guess it is because it highlights the potential in him! Just like a Mitch Hallahan highlights package 😍
