I have always thought this.
He is a better tap ruckman but has never been given an extended run.
No doubt once Oscar is fit he will come back in though.
But we do have the luxury to run with Fort until Oscar has fully recovered and I hope they give him the chance to.
It really stood out today what a difference it makes when you direct taps to your crumbers . He's a long way ahead of Oscar in that regard. He doesn't hit it to the opposition. . Oscar would get more clearances himself but Fort managed that today. I also think Fort was a lot better in neutralising the boundary stoppages.

To be fair to Oscar our M/F was really switched on today .

What it does show is that there's never been a ruckman in the competition as dominant as Gawn is.

Nic Nat at his best, was pretty bloody good in that regard, but Gawn for an extended period is the best I have seen.

This is beautiful, Fages is such a reluctant hero but a hero he is, in my eyes.

My favourite memory of Fages is when we were on the bottom of the ladder losing every week and we finally won a game ,I think it was at Marvel, and when the siren sounded this tiny guy charged onto the ground taking frantic little steps like one of those donkeys tied to a string you used to get in the Weeties packet ( I'm sure most will have no idea what I'm talking about ) , arms raised in the air embracing everyone in sight with this unbridled joy on his face.

I thought then well at least we know he really really cares.

Lester was brilliant again this week. He led our tackle count last week with 5 and was equal highest tackler this week with 6. His physical pressure and poise in defence this year have been tremendous. Having finished 6th in the Best and Fairest last year, I am thinking he will be in the top half dozen or so again this year.

Commentators on Fox gave him a nice wrap again today. Really loving his probing runs upfield and his hardness at every contest.

PS. Lester’s first quarter tackle on Ginnivan was perfect football.

I can't see Dalions ever fighting with anyone 3KZ.

And especially not his wife. If she stopped him from going to a Lions match well I guess she must be something special.
I am a very lucky man Marty

Dunstall pumped him up tonight
I actually like it when he calls games

Me too.

I don't know where I would've ended up without a young girlfriend who stuck with me and looked after me when I was young ,stupid and tbh not very nice. Certainly not where I am today, that's if I had've survived.

But we digress.

You turned on the switch by not going today Dalions. The guys were never going to lose .Also exposed some holes in Hawthorn's structure.

We seem to respond very strongly in backs to the wall games .

One interesting aspect is that Rayner could be a weapon on the MCG if we play him deep forward when everyone else is tired and his strength comes to the fore. There's a key to him somewhere.

Also agree with 3KZ , Lester's just too competitive and reliable to ever have his spot questioned. As Tom pointed out Payne vs. Gunston was pitiful to watch. Hawthorn' mosquito fleet was non existent if the supply coming in is always under pressure.

The below were the 4 outs you wanted, for the Hawks game... Enough said
"Out: Answerth, Lohmann, Fort and Payne"
