Here’s a challenge, name one worse footballer than George in the entire afl......... couldn’t think of one either, bizarrely he keeps getting games.
I can’t think of one that has played more than five games this season.

Are u that naive bro? How many times does Dima have to tell you it’s not about kicking goals and stats for George and D.rioli...

George ran 15.7km on Sunday, up and down the ground doing all the 1%er’s and defensive stuff, exactly what the coach’s ask of him..

I agree with u however with ball in hand, he’s been poor and clearly confidence is shot.. Id love to see MJR, stack or baker take his spot for a couple weeks to see how it goes but we will lose quite a bit of defensive pressure and hard running with George out..

If all George is in the side for is to cover long distances and harass opponents, then why don’t we just recruit a specialist endurance athlete who could do his job to a much higher standard?

I’m sure there are many underpaid Olympic athletes out there who are fitter and quicker than George, so if defensive pressure is all we’re after, then why not recruit one in the mid season draft to replace George?

If we don’t judge our small forwards on offensive output then that would be the way to go then, right?

Our forward fifty pressure this season has been absolutely sh*thouse and if it’s George and Daniel’s one job to chase and harass then they are failing. Opposition sides walk the ball out with ease most weeks.

The only time we have looked dangerous up front is when Baker turned into a wrecking ball against the Dogs. Every other week it’s Aarts singlehandedly providing the forward pressure and getting himself into dangerous positions while George and Daniel are offering nothing.

I think the fact that we are trying playing jack in a different role is showing the possibility we will play Lynch and either cj or chol as the 2nd tall in the future. our forward line hasn't been working well with jack and Lynch often being double teamed and scragged. so move jack as a floating forward leave 2 big forwards in position and give oppositions a different problem.

the coaching staff have never been shy of changing our set up mid season. if we were thinking of leaving it status quo they would have just played jack as usual and either cj or chol as lynch's replacement. when Lynch returns it's a matter of form whether chol or cj remains.

if oppositions lock down heavily on Lynch like they have, you free up cj/chol and have jack and dusty floating around the forward line. anyway we'll see???

Nank is awesome around the ground but IMO we looked better when Chol was in the middle.
Just remember some of the youngsters have given us some spark. Getting the balance right is so important.
Rioli and George can spend at least a month in the twos and give some fresh faces a crack.

Neither George or Rioli stick tackles. We could get anyone to cover/ guard space.
Stack, mrj, Hugo can easily take there spot and give us more of a spark.
George has completely lost me.
We are craving a new look of small forwards.

I actually like George, he's mercurial and fun to watch. Having said that he's been out of form for about 6 weeks. Right now he'll lose his spot when Lambert comes back, if not before.

Get a bit of touch back in the 2s though and I slot him straight back in.

i thought they beat the unbeaten TOP side a week earlier, it won't be the last game they Win. they will prove handy for us when playing a string of our rivals on the way home

They are better than Norf. They'll win a few good games. But the fact is there. They played 14 with less than 50 games, and controlled large stretches of the game. Bottom four team. Not the standard of opposition that should trouble any team playing like a reigning premier. We've got some work to do from here.

Would not be surprised to see Toby out. His knee early looked ordinary. Clearly got a jab to play on, but often the swelling that occurs afterwards leads to games missed - with the bye round following, if there is any aftermath from that clash then rest him, he is so so important to us.

Bloody hope it was an ankle! I will throw the toys out of the cot if we sent Nank back on with a twisted knee. Knee injuries end ruck careers. That's a Richmond 2011 move, not a Richmond 2021 move.

Love Riewoldt playing the ol' fashioned CHF. 5 inside 50s this week and I reckon most of them were marked. Sets up the forward line beautifully, both feet. Maybe better on the left peg?

We stuck with him through his form slump last year and once again he delivered in a finals series. Another rinse and repeat season from Chaos.

It's worth pointing out that Dusty's had some howlers over the same period, barely getting over 50% DE and most of the effective ones are handballs. Has set the opposition up in dangerous corridor positions over and over again with turnovers by foot where our defence is left out of position, responsible for probably a couple of dozen clearances which went straight to the opposition then straight into our back 50. We desperately needed him to stand up the last 5-6 weeks or so, he's been playing at somewhere ranging between 20-40% as well as he can.

He doesn't get hung out to dry (or even commented on) because he has as many credits in the bank as a player can, he's also had an injury niggle.

I really don't see why George and most of the premiership heroes don't get *some* of the same consideration, they've all earned it.

CCJ's first goal was a quality 2on1 mark and nerves of steel

also his second goal from the boundary moments later was a very nice kick
Best of the first one was the brilliant collects from their ankles by Prestia and Bolton. I’d hope our hand passes could be better directed but great skills to take those balls

They did beat melb a week earlier and cats r1 so on face value better form than you suggest , I expect they’ll win 5+ more games from here , we ll see where that takes them
