I love seeing Ross and the club call out the inequities of the competition. The all expect us to just sit back and take it, and the media (such as Josh Jenkins little cry post-game) can't handle us not being quiet.

And the GC CEO crying about it on radio this morning that the comment implies some sort of favouritism. Mate, we can all see the favouritism. If all the discounted top 10 picks weren't enough or that extra draft picks they've been handed with the very public messaging that they are getting them because the AFL want them to play finals. Let's not pretend that the fixture they were handed to start the season wasn't manipulated to give them the easiest start to the season possible - all of last years bottom 6 in the first 6 rounds. Don't question our intelligence by acting like that was a coincidence.

Even just a small things here - they had a 10 day break before this game. Our entire break over the bye is 11 days, as short as it could possibly be. It's little things like that which show which teams get looked after by the AFL and which teams they just expect to rot.

I wonder how many years of building it will take before our disposal and decision making isn't completely shithouse.

Even players who were considered our better players on the day.. Owens and Nas for example... were guilty of some very poor turnovers.

It's killing us.

I disagree with this. Every side has a bunch of bad turnovers, maybe we have more than average, don't know. Footywire stats put us at 7th least turnovers so mid-table on that metric.

Most of our most consequential turnovers yesterday came from younger players making mistakes.

This isn't surprising. Younger players are always going to make mistakes. Yeah, it's frustrating, but there's a clear path out of that. Only way to get those out of their system is to pump games into them which is what we're doing.

I don't think there's anything particularly to be worried about there. It'll all shake out.

This isn't surprising. Younger players are always going to make mistakes. Yeah, it's frustrating, but there's a clear path out of that. Only way to get those out of their system is to pump games into them which is what we're doing.

It certainly looks to me like we can't get any momentum because as soon as we start rolling, we gift the opposition the ball back.

There are still people on this forum that still back the "calculated" risk of Paddy McCartin and Jack Billings. So I'm not sure how far you will get in getting people to believe.

Bottom line is we need midfielders with great disposal. TDK won't make any difference other than create a disparity between the players about wages.

No one thing is gonna fix it all and were gonna burn the cap to get one guy.

What was desperate about what he said? Just because it’s obvious doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be said. No one else will speak up in our defence or in our favour except for us.

We lost to west coast. It was absolutely shit. It was limp. It was embarrassing

And it wasn’t unexpected by any balanced stkilda supporter looking at that line up either.

Dimma didn’t do shit in his press conference. We are trying to look after our backyard. Let’s start by creating a fair competition that doesn’t punish clubs trying to build a list in favour of throwing every asset and gift under the sun to northern clubs that ensures their success long term as opposed to them actually building anything of note the way we need to.

Imagine if we actually had the one top 10 academy talent at the club in Mackenzie. We would all actually feel that little better and it’s such a small footnote in reality, until you see the suns have another 3-4 top 20 kids this year, INCLUDING the kid who should be pick 1.

Timing can say alot about a statement. Ross' timing was ****ing terrible. It was a petty and childish comment in a pre game and Dimmas response potting our crowd and record absolutely skewered us. Seeing it any other way is just saints bias.

Ross and co can talk all the shit they want, we remain a club that has ****ed up so much that everyone else will just point those **** ups out when we complain about the inequality. If we did do Seaford, if we didnt shit the draft, if we didnt etc etc.

To have any credibility in this fight we need to actually do something first. We have so much shit in our backyard its pointless commenting on others.

Fair, dont agree though. TdK means we cant target actual needs and were still pretty unsure on most of the kids.

If King gets his body right (doubtful) and Tauru and Barrett come on to bridge the gap a bit then our list might not be too horrible and maybe we just need a star mid or a game breaking HF but we wont be able to pursue them cause TdK is ****ing the cap.

Its at least a year too early to be all in on an FA IMO.
