I'm very very pleased that Doogs has been named.

I'd expect Hunter, Munro and Morrison/Carroll to be dropped.

Hot dang.. .Now hopefully we can *finally* see Doogs get a game. I assume that Braun and Humm are going to play despite their crapulence last week, since they were named in the starting 18.

I guess Doogs will be backup ruck/CHF, whilst Gaspar will be used at CHB. Personally, I'd like to see- In: Matera, Gaspar McDougall, Out: Cox, Munro, Carroll.

Suddenly we have the lads to stretch them.

Any thoughts on how the young talls are shaping up, Disco? I know Doogs had an injury a few weeks back...but are he/Lynch/Johnson et al pushing for selection?

Same here! Thats what Id like to see. That, imo, would really stretch the Dogs!

I think you will find that Gaspar is the favoured big man over all others at the moment. The only reason he may miss out this weekend, is because if he plays and injures himself again, I know that it would be detrimental to his confidence. He was bitterely disapointed when he last did his hamstring and if it happened again he would be almost ready to throw in the towel. His injuries have frustrated him since he's been at the club. He knows he has the talent there, but has been limited in being able to show the public what he can do.

McDougall is still a bit young in the mind to be a regular AFL footballer.

So you are saying he isn't mentally up to playing AFL football?

Not just yet, no. I don't think McDougall will become a regular until at least next year.
Interesting. Although I have heard of players not being physically ready for AFL football I've never heard of a player not being mentally ready. I guess that would explain why we haven't seen much of him before now despite his WAFL form.

If I were Worsfold Id worry about playing Gaspar. Gee he has badluck with injurys doesnt he? Poor guy, he could be a champion if he could just get some games under his belt.

So your saying if 'Gas did his hammy again he would have contemplated retiring like Clem Michael?
