A huge negative from today’s game was the stagnant ball movement. Lots of long down the line kicks and no sign of anyone looking to bite off those aggressive kicks into the corridor which we were trying earlier in the year.

Well...you responded to someone's sarcastic comment about them not being the reason we lost...a reasonable assumption for me to make I'd say.I never said it altered the outcome but it made horrible viewing, momentum killer at times. The umpires are there to adjudicate not attention seek
Got a colleague whos a looong suffering saints fan.St Kilda are a boring team to watch.
How do their supporters do it every week ?
No he's great....for any Sydney recruiters reading this, Bailey Williams is an amazing ruckman, you will love himInteresting seeing everyone put Bailey in the spotlight after only 1 game with Flynn in the side.
I said it'd happen. Do I want a medal? Maybe I do . I'm adamant this was the 2nd nail in Bailey's coffin at the club, the first being the acquisition of Flynn.
The only reason anyone even remotely rates Williams, is because he was forced into that sole ruck role and played career best footy, surprising everyone.. Up till that point your average Eagles punter, which includes many on here had totally lost patience and put a line through him thinking he didn't have it.
Take that sole ruck gig away and we're straight back to square 1 with him. He can still ruck adhoc and get involved at stoppages, but he's not a forwards anus, and that's unfortunately his actual role now, a forward.
Meanwhile the bloke would legitimately fetch something on the open market come trade week. Strung together a couple reasonable years and would have a very tasty highlights package. If Flynn's here to stay, I think it has to happen.
Got a feeling it's going to come up on discussion a fair bit.
Fold the club.
You sure she wasn't just disgusted that it wasn't HTB?Watch the reaction of the WCE woman in the background.. She knew Harley would be in trouble..

So cringe. Yeo says "energy" about 10 times in 20 seconds.I personally blame that stupid ‘Big Coast Energy’ ad they play at 3QT. Makes me cringe every time.
Way too harsh, bloke has only had one game as forward ruck. He kicked a goal too, which is what you want for that position. If he can chop out for Flynn and average a goal a game, then he's nailed the brief. No one is expecting him to be a key forward.Interesting seeing everyone put Bailey in the spotlight after only 1 game with Flynn in the side.

I know it's only very early days, but it's not like we didn't see him as a forward in his first 3-4 seasons at the club.

Well he needs to be otherwise we can't play him and Flynn in the same side (at least not if we expect to be decent)Way too harsh, bloke has only had one game as forward ruck. I just don’t understand what we are doing as a club.
Gaff And Sheed weren’t too bad today, but why are they in the side at all? do we think that we are going to play finals? Surely we can’t be that delirious?
We should be bringing in and keeping in young guys to have a look at them, see what they have to offer and develop them at AFL level to see what they need to get better at for improve on.
Secondly, why do we bring guys that dominate at a lower level in a certain position into the team, and then play them in a position that is not the one they dominate in? It doesn’t help the young players confidence, and it doesn’t help the team. Trew attended one Centre bounce from what I saw and he won that clearance, then he was sent to the forward line again to play out of position and Simmo just loves doing that shit. It makes no sense.
Thirdly, how long do we have to watch Bailey Williams have no idea of how to play as a forward before they stop doing it? His best has been when he filled in as a Ruckman and he’s taken some great marks around the ground, but whenever he goes forward, he can’t take the Mark or he can’t kick straight. Today at least he kicks straight with the one mark that he did take, but one Mark is not enough to be a forward when you’re that size and strength.
Last, why are we not instructing our Big players to put a block on for Harley when he’s got a tag on him? This is the sort of shit that a local level coach would do. If we arent trying to tank then I don’t know what the **** we doing.
This should be another year of developing young guys and not wasting our time with players that we know our past and won’t take us to a flag. We should be seeing guys like, hall, Burgiel, dewar and Johnston for more than one quarter or more than one game to see what they’ve got.
It just drives me ****ing crazy.

Its the Ross Lyon defensive setup . Players behind the ball and clog up the corridor.A huge negative from today’s game was the stagnant ball movement. Lots of long down the line kicks and no sign of anyone looking to bite off those aggressive kicks into the corridor which we were trying earlier in the year.
Strange you would call raising Trew’s lack of pace as slagging off? You’re really gonna slag off Trew after 26% TOG?
5 disposals, 1 centre clearance, 1 mark and I’ll even give you the 1 free against. Wasn’t terrible in a very limited opportunity.
Should have started for mine. Gaff and Sheed are known quantities at AFL level. Trew has never been given an opportunity to play inside mid at the level for an extended period.
Had a Freo mate who hated his StK guts. Was very very difficult for him when Lyon became Dockers coach.Got a colleague whos a looong suffering saints fan.
Was not thrilled when RTB returned.
Hes a miserable SOB
Agree with this, Bailey takes in here are ****ing strange when he at best had half a game forward today with **** all clean supply.Way too harsh, bloke has only had one game as forward ruck. He kicked a goal too, which is what you want for that position. If he can chop out for Flynn and average a goal a game, then he's nailed the brief. No one is expecting him to be a key forward.

Yes yes they are. I might go crazy and give it till the end of the year to maybe give it a bit of a chance to work. Are people seriously writing off Williams already???
It was a bit what I expected playing a Ross Lyon coached opposition - can remember when he was still coaching Freo and they played Melbourne from memory and neither team wanted to win - another snoozefest! It was a snoozefest.
I was in front of the TV the whole game but on my phone for 80%
It’s hard to imagine that people don’t have lives, but this forum is a haven for those people.Yes yes they are. I might go crazy and give it till the end of the year to maybe give it a bit of a chance to work.
