So what if the club and therefore Mini see more potential in Archer or Jobe than JWill? Maybe we will try to ship him?
Jwill has reached his ceiling skills wise unless he can lose weight gain speed or endurance he will not play ahead of newbs with greater potential in a rebuilding side . Its not rocket science .

There’s a been a lot to criticise the club about recently but the identification and development of key forwards has been spectacular. Horrible injury for Waterman and wish it never happened but it opens a massive opportunity for Archer, Shanahan and Jilliams to sort out the pecking order in what’s hopefully (but with sadness) a post Oscar era.

If Archer and Shanahan are being chosen ahead of Jilliams at the end of the year he has every right to (and probably should) explore his opportunities elsewhere. If that eventuates there will be plenty of clubs that come knocking but I hope he stays and fights for a spot. A long term KPF forward stable of Shanahan, Archer and Jilliams is incredibly promising when they are often hard to identify or trade for.

THe logic behind selection is so clear, I'm not sure why some struggle so much grasping it.

I think J.will and his manage will be dtarting to put the feeders out now to see if there’s interest else where.
It’s all very strange really - as can remember Mark Stone saying Jack has a lot of potential and with a couple of extra good pre-seasons under his belt he should be a star and went on to say watch out for him - however for some reason Mini is not giving him a look in. Jack must wonder what he’s done wrong as he’s not really been given much of a chance to prove himself for at least he knows how to kick a goal!

This is a bullshit take. You’re not the only one that holds this view. The others who hold it are bullshit too.

We’re in a rebuild. The whole point is to identify the players who are going to be the key cogs for the next push in 3-5 years and prioritise get games into them.

Clearly AReid is one, Shanahan probsbly another.

Prioritising means by its definition that at times we are going to be selecting them ahead of others, unfortunately JW has been the victim at times this year, and may be again this weekend (though it’s not certainty).

We need to be using this time to develop the players who will help us win finals in the future…. If you look at it that way, I’d much rather be getting games into Reid and Shanahan than Williams.

Sam Mitchell -who everybody frothed over - did the same thing at Hawthorn.

“It was about investing in the development of our players through 66 games and investing in the implementation of the game style that could win finals when our time came.”
In effect, the 68 games was treated as a development period that would set the club up for the long term.“

credits crew is a numpty analysis when the players in question have zero credits to 'crew'

That's the coaches job, to identify and develop the players he thinks will take the club forward. he'll be judged on his results over the coming couple of years.

Really pleased for Bailey that he's earned the "managed" qualifier beside his name, he's finally made it.

Not sure why all the melts clearly Jack Williams is going to play. Flynn main ruck, Oscar is full forward, Reid isn't going to second ruck over Jilliams so why wouldn't he be named on the bench?

Because Williams is young (only 21) and just kicked a bag in the WAFL. Archer has done bugger all for about 6 weeks. It's the perfect time to select him. If not now then it's not happening.

Sad to see a guy who could be a decent forward not get an opportunity.

Perhaps wait until tomorrow when the final team is announced before melting over Williams’ as yet unconfirmed exclusion

Archer has great hands, just needs to start kicking straight to get the fans to warm up to him more.
Jack Williams possible conditioning issues probably hasn't helped his cause to be ahead of Archer in the pecking order.
With BBBW out, they will hand Jobe or Jack Williams a spot on the bench. I don't really mind either way.
Bit of a raffle with the other 4 spots on the bench. None of them have a spot sewn up.
Would like to see Davis and Allan make the cut. Preferably not as the sub.

Jwill has reached his ceiling skills wise unless he can lose weight gain speed or endurance he will not play ahead of newbs with greater potential in a rebuilding side . Its not rocket science .
A reid is still a long way behind Jwilliams. It's not rocket Science it's facts.
Jwilliams kicks goals every time and is a accurate kick for goal.
A Reid needs to prove he is better by kicking gettable goals.

While im not in the melting over him not being selected group, he's a 21 year old key fwd who's played 35 games, he's nowhere near his ceiling

Ceiling? A 21 year old kpf who kicks goals regularly is already at ceiling?

You must be new here.

Once we get a decent amount of i50's per game and we don't need as much mobility he would be a weapon for sure . It's not like he is in delist territory . He can keep his form in the Wafl and keep working on his fitness.

I said skills wise . He marks he goals .
If you re read my post I did mention he has endurance and pace to work on . At 21 he shouldn't be carrying baby fat . Is he just a plodder fitness wise . He ain't no Matt Priddiss who was fit but his body wasn't built for speed . No one has ever said Jwill has been training the house down .
