Proud effort. Got slapped hard in the opening term, should have been down more at QT. Responded fantastically. In it up to our eyeballs, Cats class kept us at arm’s length, Cotton On ambassadors in green got involved, legs went and they’re too good in junk time.

But ****. 90 point game last year. Expected 60+ at least. So much to take from it. Well done boys, and well done Mini on some very good moves.

Positives
• Allen set the tone as captain. Worked his ass off, got reward on the scoreboard and set up his teammates.
Proud effort.
• Hewett and Harley lifting us in the midfield, really well done. Cats went the Harley tag midway through the third, he’s back.
• Ginbey at KPD. Gave the Coleman medallist an absolute bath. Junktime Jezza went hard when the legs had gone, had genuinely no impact on the result of that game. A huge tick for Reubs.
• Baker, Dewar, Brockman were excellent in their roles, kickstarted a ton of movement.
• Set and forget Jwill forever, thanks. Just a true old school KPF.
• TK had another big tick of a game at half forward
• Cole was very good (got exceedingly lucky on one bad butcher that went not 15). Folks just hate him, was integral to nearly every successful rebound tonight.
• Hough to Bailey midway through the second. Went to him around the 20 touch mark so he still found a bit of it over 2.5 quarters, but had precious little impact and butchered it a good amount. Didnt think it would work but our best periods were when Hough kept him out of it at clearances.

Negatives

• Junktime Jezza ending with five goals. Took an absolute bath from Ginbey, cried to the umps all day, and then finally showing up in the last 10 minutes. Not the result Ginbey deserves to see in the paper tomorrow.
• Flynn copped such a bath early and the Cats should have been home at QT as a result of the midfield work
• Duggan quiet and panicked. The opposite of a captain’s game.
• Didn’t like the pile on on Noah Long in the thread. Missed a very gettable set shot, but the Cats left plenty out there too and we were in it up to our eyeballs against a great side. I get disappointment that we wasted a chance to seriously push for a boilover, but some of it went a fair bit over the line for me.
• Once again blown up in the last quarter. Legs are a real issue when you play such an all guns blazing sprint filled game. Realistically destroyed any chance of a turn up, even if we’d tied it at that 10-15 minute mark

It’s building.

Positives
  • our intensity for the first 3 and a half quarters
  • Oscar is getting back into some form
  • we won the clearances
  • Hewett and Reid having an influence

Negatives
  • our drop off in the last quarter
  • turnovers cost us the game
  • skills…

Overall, pretty happy, I guess. The blowout at the end was a shame, but the game was still up for grabs with 10 minutes to go.

Enjoying the game style. Run and gun. Chaos footy when we are playing this way for 2 years we with better disposal efficiency we will kill it.

No way cole can stay in this side. McCarthy has to come in next week

Hutchinson simple mistakes……

Good effort lads, score blew out by the boys still trying to win it.

Keep building. Have that hard running midfield like a Bailey Smith and that result is different.

It’s also the only game we will win the hit outs against….

So why in other games can they perform in 4th quarter - St Kilda game, Essendon game, Richmond game

Mate, I dunno how you're not getting it. Geelong had their foot in the gas from the first bounce to the point that the speed of the game was ridiculous. Come the fourth we were clearly gassed and not up to the fitness level to run out the game against a bunch of rock hard and seasoned blokes who were barely clinging on themselves.

Our kids will keep getting more fit every pre-season and as time goes on they can go run out games better. It's hardly the great mystery of the universe you're making it out to be.

Positives
Ginbey 1st,2nd, 3rd qtrs

Negatives
Ginbey 4th qtr
Jez 3 in the last. HEdwards releasing the ball straight to him on the ground.

Got Ginbey in the lead but should be someone filling that hole with how long they had to setup.

He got HEdwards over the back.

**Correction

Hough went to Bailey half way through the 2nd, Mini spoke about it in his half-time bit.

Yep, second this 👆

Disagree ln duggan. Looked composed and drove off halfback quite smoothly.

Positives:

Harley = Barometer
Hewett = Power
Baker = Leader
Graham = Solid
Ginbey = Clamps
Brockman = Composed

Negatives:

Need to be fitter and be able to run out games. But pleasingly, our identity was there on display tonight and its great to watch.

Positives
Oscar doing well without Waterman like last year Waterman did better without Oscar.
J Williams proving why he is still way ahead of Archer Reid. Kicked two goals from set shots that i doubt Archer could get.
A Reid i thought competed well as the back up ruckman but when Bailey comes back he goes back to Wafl.
Sandy Brock proving a good find.
Hewett and Harley with some sublime moments

Negatives
Too many fifty metre penalties
Too many hack kicks from defence

Gibney playing in defence where he mainly played as a Junior is getting better.

Oscar have to give him a big tick.

Flynn best game in Yellow and Black # Blue and Gold

Baker can we stop talking about the trade, pick downgrade?

Positive not many more standouts which means everyone did something.

Negative, sub came on to late for his development
