It's called being realistic Westie.

Unlike the peeps who think we're a good chance to win every game and then lose their shit when we don't.

Think I might go break beer bottles on my nuts for an hour. Will be less painful that what will happen to this West Coast from Wish side today.
Will you be posting us all a blow by blow description? Maybe leave out the pix...

Tim Kelly to hopefully bring it up a notch against his old side.

I want to see Hutchinson, Reid and Duggan set the tone for the boys with relentless physicality and mongrel.

Some clean I50 entries to a target will be super important today instead of the kick and hope approach, we've basically got noone capable of a contested mark.

Maric needs to tidy up his disposal he can't afford to cough up those easy demoralising goals.

WC are coming in with the zero expectations today, so it's Geelongs game to lose. Cmon boys!!

True enough Tugs. I'm allowing myself hopelessly unrealistic expectations today because Harley and Oscar tipped a win (maybe they were joking?). You'd think they'd tip a win against a team that was more possible? Crazy expectations from them, maybe they know something, gotta love the intent though.

Just want us to show fight today 🙏

Bo Allan to run through a few blokes and Harley to have a blinder vs the team that will try and get him for pick 36

If our players aren't running out under the expectation they could win every game they play then they need to GTFO.

They need to believe in themselves and their teammates to win their contests and the game otherwise #whatsthepointinpersisting ?

However unlikely it is we are going to win whatever game I turn it on and watch with optimism, otherwise I'd rather be "breaking beer bottles on my nuts" like a loser.

I prefer the ones that think we're a good shout to lose every game and then lose their shit when we don't.

That's why you're a legend Bender.
You're not the only one that does the same, there are many here amongst us. But to declare your unbounded optimism on here gets you labelled a fanboy. That's why some keep it muted with a touch of scepticism, satire or realism.

But it is interesting how we here can call it as we see it, often not expecting a win, keeping it real, which it usually is with the end result. But we expect the team to absolutely believe in every game and give it all they've got, even when it defies all the odds and logic. So it's team brainwash and the power of positive thinking drilled into them, to a large extent...and of course that's what gets them through the impossible years (incredibly).

But any rational mind would say the odds are against you winning this game.
So it must be difficult when you've been smashed by halftime to keep the faith and not lower your head. It's highly irrational in many respects to expect any other outcome, but that's sport the world over and wins and upsets happen in the unlikeliest of circumstances, against all odds, and that's why we love it.

Having said that, Go the Mighty Eagles! And even if I was a loser I would never break beer bottles on my nuts, at my age I'd need a wheelbarrow to put my nuts in for a start.
