That's why you're a legend Bender.
You're not the only one that does the same, there are many here amongst us. But to declare your unbounded optimism on here gets you labelled a fanboy. That's why some keep it muted with a touch of scepticism, satire or realism.
But it is interesting how we here can call it as we see it, often not expecting a win, keeping it real, which it usually is with the end result. But we expect the team to absolutely believe in every game and give it all they've got, even when it defies all the odds and logic. So it's team brainwash and the power of positive thinking drilled into them, to a large extent...and of course that's what gets them through the impossible years (incredibly).
But any rational mind would say the odds are against you winning this game.
So it must be difficult when you've been smashed by halftime to keep the faith and not lower your head. It's highly irrational in many respects to expect any other outcome, but that's sport the world over and wins and upsets happen in the unlikeliest of circumstances, against all odds, and that's why we love it.
Having said that, Go the Mighty Eagles! And even if I was a loser I would never break beer bottles on my nuts, at my age I'd need a wheelbarrow to put my nuts in for a start.
It's highly likely that optimism will be totally smashed by half-way through the second quarter, but I'll still bring it to the opening bounce.
