Strange post.

Can't rebuild during the season. Can only play kids.

Took 2 picks inside 30 last year....isn't that the start of a rebuild?

Why the comments that Clarko doesn't want to rebuild?
According to Hodge he won’t go down that road because he feels like he’s let down the new guys like O’meara and Mitchell!

They're both 26.

Look at Port and what they did in 2018 draft and look at them now.

We don't need to gut and rebuild. We're missing a few pieces, but can win one within 5 years. Mitchell and JOM would still be around.

This. The greatest disservice to them now would be to prolong the rebuild any longer.

This. If we end up with a good draft haul this year (say five picks inside the top 50) and nail those draft picks, things can certainly change pretty quickly without needing to go down a full rebuild path. It’s going to be more like a “mini clean out”.

Sounds easy in theory, but not all draft picks peak at the same time nor can they be first year gamers or instant impact players.

Essentially picking blind though, after no championship games. Could work in our favour, but it could also go against us. Add in all the academy prospects as well.

Last years group is a great example of this. General consensus was that Day wouldn't play senior footy for a few years as his body was too slight, but Finn was AFL ready and a potential round 1 starter. Instead Day has played a bunch of games and is actually thriving, while Finn isn't even being spoken about as a debut chance among coaches reports.

Random fact. Tom Scully is ranked number 3 in the entire league this season for goal assists.

genuinely shocked. But just watching him play, fumbles a lot, not getting decent numbers, not really being that link man like last year. Just looks like a player devoid of confidence.

Please name the plenty of kids we are playing.

I'd expect that Gunston and Breust have been around long enough to provide that organisation and direction in the forward line. We have only played Nash and Morris, as youngsters, in the forward line any way.

more meant if we’re going to go down the full youth path, it’s good to have seniors around them

In fairness to not only Scully, but any outside player we've used this year, our game plan of 'mark ball, go back, wait 20 seconds before bombing long down the line' doesn't really play into their hands.

In the fleeting moments we as a team have got off the chain, and he has found space forward of the wing being the link man to the forward targets, he's been great. It's just unfortunate we see that maybe once a month at the minute.

Maybe not gut the list but a severe pruning is needed. It's why the rest of this season is so important. Time to make some calls on guys that have been around for a while, get them in the team show what they've got and if they aren't up to it bring in the next batch. Rinse and repeat. If we're going to finish in the bottom 6 let's at least learn something.

Spin the magnets. Start Sicily and Hardwick up forward to open spots for Glass and Jiath for example.

I don't care how or for who, Unleash the kids under 23 the time is now. I am feeling frustrated watching syd, freo,gc kids, the games they are getting into there kids..

Day,Scrimshaw look the goods and are on par with any defendes. It's time to find 2 or 3 more before the seasons end. No more cloggers or blokes retiring at seasons end on selection night

Unleash the Finn!
* yeah.

So he needs to learn a bit about playing the Hawthorn way, well he ain’t doing that in a two quarter scrimmage....get him in the team.
