Ladder after Round 12
So, a much more even ladder after Round 12, in the mid-section anyway. Both the Dragons and Wonders lost again on the weekend which has given everyone else an opportunity to catch up which most have taken. The Wonders remain first but their form is shaky and their percentage has dopped 18% over the past three weeks and might not be a factor in determining positions come the end of the season. The Dragons too have lost games, two in a row now and the gap to the Mod Squad and the Furies has lessened with both those sides winning. The Mods stay third and the Furies 4th but they've almost caught up to the top two and would now have them in their sights.
Baghdad sneak into 5th spot after taking care of the Gumbies. They are effectively three games behind the Furies though and those three points they lost earlier in the season for a rules breach may come back to haunt them. East Side move off the bottom into sixth after defeating the Dragons. East Side have won two in a row now and would definitely be thinking they're a chance to play finals with the Bombers only one point up the road in 5th.
The Demons' loss sees them move back to 7th spot and out of the top five, a spot they've held for about six weeks. They're only half a game outside the five but they've looked ordinary over the past few weeks and they will need to work harder if they want to play finals. Geelong fall to last place after losing to the Bombers in what proved to be a pretty interesting game. The Gumbies are now a game and almost 13 percent outside the top five and if they don't start winning they may have to kiss their chances of finals goodbye.
