If that's the reason, why is GWS on ever week in Sydney? Massive demand?

For the rest, see my post above. Do you want a level playing field, or to keep all your advantages, while removing your disadvantages?
A level playing field , including the GF being moved
Same reasons re: GWS (2 team city makes it easy just to broadcast those games )
(And by the way- Being on FTA doesn't mean live , especially for home games )
I don't care much about national coverage to be honest
I'd be more than happy to get Friday night double-header foxtel-only home games

If there were fewer Vic teams, you'd get all the games on tv too
But instead there's an oversupply
The slots aren't even shared fairly amongst Vic clubs
Richmond have too many Friday night games

No, I'm saying it's a trade off.

You get every game on FTA, regardless of timeslot, we get preference for the timeslots that get FTA anyway.

If it was an even split clubs all would get 4/9 games on FTA, or ~10 games/year (slightly higher due to bye round and matches played in unusual slots, but near enough).

By giving Vic clubs preference to those 4 slots, they might get, on average, 13 or 14 games on FTA, while non Vic clubs still get 22 games.

Naturally, FTA brings in more money for the clubs, so Vic clubs getting more of the 'prime' slots allows us to make up for getting far fewer games. So if you want us to get the same slots, we want as many games.
While I admire your ability to defend the indefensible, your logic is of course nonense though. If I follow your reasoning I am not allowed to buy a membership and attend giants games unless I attend an equal no of games in Melbourne so there is no advantage to my club. Not gunna happen, and really silly

Not at all, you can buy foxtel and watch your team, just like people in Melbourne have to to follow theirs.

So you don't care about national coverage, but you'll whinge about it if you don't think your team is getting enough of them?

BTW. You do realise that for football, the Vic market is bigger as the rest combined, don't you? That the other 8 teams aren't divided according to the market is a problem you have with the the other non Vic states. But no, you're stuck in the 'kick a vic' paradigm you can't see the facts, can you.

No need for foxtel as there's now the AFL app
Besides its not as if other Vic teams get as many Friday night games as Richmond

Still can't stream it to a TV though

I never whinged about coverage
Just the timeslots
Don't care about national coverage - it's pretty irrelevant
I attend my team's home games and some away ones
So I'd prefer Friday nights and Saturday nights at a later time than 5.40/6.10 as a double or triple header
At least one away night game would've been nice too (I loved traveling to the Richmond Eagles game last year )
However such a long drought between Friday games involving non-Vic teams is a farce
As is the AFL claim that it's merit based

Yeah; not easily /legally anyway
But I don't consider that a huge problem
It's cheap too
Oh I agree. Once they sort out the stream quality and get it onto TVs it'll blow FoxFooty away

If we can hold them in the middle we'll be okay . They haven't beaten us at AO .
Not trying to banter, but it's important to remember our last battle at AO we were without Bontempelli, Hunter and Libba, who are 3 of our 4 best mids IMO.

With Port having so much out in terms of defenders I'd expect Dickson and Dunkley to sneak in and kick a few as I feel Port will have enough to stop Redpath and maybe Stringer. Will definitely be a good game, I'm looking forward to putting the 'flat track bullies' debate to bed, but that won't happen as if we win it'll be 'Port had no defenders' which is a fair argument to make.

Ah AFL you little doozie.

Mitchell and Gunston a chance to be rested according to Clarko, might keep the margin under 150:p

Have a look at who we were missing last game.. you weren't beaten in the middle our forwards dominated in the last quarter.

I was simply responding to the post saying that 'if we can beat them in the middle'. I don't know if Port have the players to hang with our mids, but that might just be my bias.

If Gray, Wingard, Boak , Hartlett, Ebert, Wines get off the leash their ceiling and extra gear is higher than the dogs midfield at peak. A few multiple all Australians in that group. Whether that happens or not who knows but its a bit if a test for you.

Why?

You guys have pushed Sydney and Hawks recently.

Pushed them when they played at half steam, Hawks went to about 70% in the last and blew us away, Swans comfortably held us off at 50%.

Confidence would be low for us to. We'll see eh.

sorry but bulldogs midfield is far superior to ports.

i'm not sure what the port midfield's problem is but boak and ebert are frankly different players from 2 years ago. wines and gray are the only ones that are capable of matching the dogs in contest but they bat so much deeper.

the good news for port is that dogs can sometimes have a real hard time converting their midfield dominance to goals as they don't have much marking power down there which is also good news given ports defensive stocks.

I think the game can be won at the ends for Port. To me, Port have a potent forward line and Bulldogs' forward line can sometimes be dysfunctional. So, as long as your forwards make good use of each forward entries, they are a good chance to outscore Bulldogs.

This is what Adelaide did to give them a good shot at winning earlier this year. Bulldogs had much more inside 50s but Adelaide were efficient going forward.

The last month Boak and Ebert have been our best. You've also got Sam Gray, Young (AA form) and even Westhoff who can run through the middle as well. If the Hoff gets ontop early we'll win comfortably.
