Buckley - Carrazzo

Carrots is averaging 100 over the last 7 weeks, with only one score less than 70 this season which was against Collingwood...

Have just gone

D Swallow > ROK

Now to decide who I am going to trade Sandi for. Most likely it will be to Vardy, I think he has good JS and if he can keep performing then Hawkins will struggle to return. Also if Mooney doesn't return he should play the season.

Was thinking of doing one of the following this week, cant seem to find either break even on FanFooty though, not up at the moment for some reason.

Otten > Howard = $110 k
Lower > Howard = $180 k

What are your thoughts here boys, i think lower could be on the decline with Barlow back and Otten comes back in this week in a struggling Crows team.

Ended up going

Darling -> Didak
JRoo -> ROK

Moved Didak into my mids via Prestia and put him on the field to cover Swan and Montagna until they return. ROK was the safer and more consistent forward option as I was too worried about picking up Fyfe because of his shoulders.

Didak also gives my team a solid m7/f8. Hopefully he moves back into the midfield this weekend and rips up!

Otten B/E 12
Lower B/E 42

That's a hard one! I had both and got rid of both. I would keep Lower this week personally as Barlow will only be the sub. If you are planning on keeping one of them then it's 50/50.

Still confused by those who are trading out Swan. Perhaps I'm daft, but if Swan's your biggest concern that needs to be traded, the rest of your side would have to be excellent.

Can someone elaborate on why they would, please?

Still undecided by Chapman vs. Johnson vs. O'Keefe

Tough one but SJ is making it very hard to avoid.

To answer your question, I traded Swan to Boyd this week for a couple of reasons.

I'm ranked about 1500 and after a disastrous start I'd given up on my aim at the start of the year (top 500) but with a solid last month my original goal is now achievable.

I traded out Swan this week because I've also got Monty and I didn't want to give up too many points. With Collingwood having a bye next week as well and me having Pendles I didn't want to be 2 premium midfielders short so this seemed like a good opportunity to gain some points on those with Swan or both.

I'm also still in the eliminator which is now the only match I worry about since i'm in 2 soft leagues (non BF) and have only one real competitor out of 30 lol.

The obvious concern is when he comes back, he could of course return to his old self however I'm hoping for a slow start and Boyd who's got a lot of games at Etihad soon to go crazy.

That's my reasoning anyway, sound or not :thumbsu:

I got blasted on here for trading Swan out in round 7 when I didn't like 2 byes in 7 rounds. Sometimes a gamble works sometimes it doesn't.
If you are in eliminator take the risk, burn a trade and try to stay in. I would hate to think I didn't have a full crack at eliminator. I would say the trade is easily recoverable if you get knocked out then go back to focus on overall.

For mine I want to know peoples thoughts on Ryan Griffen, 8 hundreds in 10 matches and what I think is a favourable schedule. Takes a lot of marks on the wing from what I have seen.

I could double upgrade D. Swallow and Libba this week to Griffen and Mitchell.

The downfall is that completes my midfield and leaves Swan and Boyd out.

Am I thinking too short term? otherwise I get Boyd this week and then Swan after he comes back and shows his true form again. (requires 3 trades as I'd need another downgrade)

I'm pretty sold on getting mitchell in as well as I don't think there's a better value mid atm.

But for my other trade is it worth going;
knights > chappy
or
matera > didak and have knights/didak as my 8th forward???

I think knights may have done his dash, and matera should be good enough cover when he comes back for the rest of the season, not to mention my M/F links.

thoughts?

Will do Sandi --> Griffin. This will give me a total of ~$460k to play around with in the next few weeks.

Will probably go with Batchelor --> Deledio/Birchall/Scotland this week.

Next week Darling/Dawes to ROK/Goodes/SJ and look at getting in Didak or Mitchell as well.

i have the same dilemma this week D2D....

Murphy or Ablett (the classic league vs overall situation...)
.....murph will outscore ablett (right) but murphs bye is so badly placed.....

Spent all week debating do I upgrade Swallow to Pendles or maybe Ablett. Friday is here and instead I am thinking I’ll just turn Duigan or Stanley into Lids?

I'd do something other than Heppell to Broughton - I'm not convinced that Broughton will be a keeper.

Also, I'd prefer JRoo than Darling to trade out - Darling's averaging higher, AND he's cheaper.

As for Dustin Martin, I'd upgrade him when you see a cheap mid premium that you want in your final team. Depends on how you're other lines are going, whether they need upgrading more urgently. He's averaging 94.5, so if you've got lesser players on the field, upgrade them first as a priority.
How is he not a keeper?

Averaged 90 the past 2 years, and after a shocking start this year due to a different role, he has come good and is averaging 90 the past 5 weeks. He is most certainly a keeper in the backs.

Sandi > Vardy
Jroo > Pavlich

Risk flogging off Sandi, but Freo have a great run coming up for Pav to do some big scoring and Vardy's place looks secure for the mean time at the cats.

Leaves me with 10 trades left, 240k in the bank and 2 (3 if Z Smith doesnt end up being a keeper) upgrades left to do.

It's a risk flogging off Sandi for cash, yes but a much better idea than flogging off Cox. :D

Double downgrading this week but having a hell of a time deciding what to do.

Duigan -> Nicholson will be one trade because even if Nicholson doesn't play every week his DPP will cover that.

The other trade will either be Stanley -> Howard or Smith -> Bailey. The Bailey trade will allow me to keep Lower as B8 and ideally I'll only have to use him in H2H once to cover Cox, with Luey's bye in a non-H2H week.

That's obviously a risk, and I'd rather Stanley to Howard, but bringing in Nicholson and Howard kills my cover in defence.

Thoughts?

Bewick will finally be put on the scrapheap

Bewick > Thompson

I did the same.
Although I have no bench cover in the mids this week.
When Swan comes back I will switch Sylvia for Mzungu for bench cover.
Rolling the dice now
