Could be available (and usually play when available):
  • Peter Wright
  • Dylan Shiel
  • Andrew Phillips
  • Jake Kelly
  • Alwyn Davey Jr
The last time we played two tall forwards and two rucks was against GWS, which looked like this:
  • Fwd: Weideman (subbed with concussion), Jones, Langford, Stringer, Perkins, Davey Jr, Menzie
  • Mid: Draper, Phillips, Setterfield, Caldwell, Shiel, Parish, Merrett, Martin, Durham
  • Def: Zerk-Thatcher, Ridley, Laverde, Kelly, Redman, McGrath, Heppell (starting sub)
If we went to almost exactly the same set up, the ins and outs could be:
  • Jones out > Wright
  • Walla out > Shiel
  • Bryan out > Philips
  • Hind out > Kelly
  • Snelling out > Davey (maybe)
Probably D'Ambrosio, Hind, Snelling or Davey Jr as the sub.

Be very interesting with J.Kelly if hes picked or not. Based on this year he would be, but who does he replace. I assume Brad would only be happy swapping him for Hind for anyone in our back 7 assuming we dont rest anyone. I personally would give Jake another week

2MP available for selection this week. Wouldnt risk this one either

Just
Shiel - Tippa

Then pending Draper soreness a Phillips in

i don't see any downside in playing Wright.

In: Shiel, Wright, Kelly
Out: Massimo, Tippa, Bryan

Ridley - Zerk - Kelly
Redman - Laverde - McGrath
Martin - Merrett - Langford
Perkins - Weideman - Langford
Menzie - Wright - Caldwell*
Draper - Stringer* - Hobbs
Durham - Hind - Shiel - Heppell
Bryan

*swap after centre bounce

I think Shiel is the only one certain to be named in terms of changes. Will be interesting to see what happens with Wright, Kelly and Phillips

No. He's pretty much ready to go in terms of the shoulder being all good. It's just about how he goes after being back in the main training group again.
Right. For some reason I thought I read he wasn't coming back this week.

It only got put on the agenda today during Scott's presser.
Ok I've caught up now. McPherson said no yesterday (hence his player thread title) but Scott walked that back to a maybe?

Starting to get a little concerned for Kelly now. That’s a full month out.

Hopefully they’re just being extra cautious
He has no symptoms and is medically fit. He’s been seeking out independent specialists of his own volition to make sure he’s going to be okay though, so it’s a matter of him wanting to play and being comfortable taking that risk. Which is fair enough imo

“Jake Kelly will return through the VFL following delayed concussion he suffered in Round Eight against Port Adelaide.”

Snelling named on-ball is kinda funny, although they did it with Menzie last week and Perkins the week before.

Also D'Ambrosio named forward and Langford named back. That one is more intriguing since both could in theory play those positions, but you'd think if they wanted a small forward they'd bring in Davey rather than D'Ambrosio (given one has trained there and the other hasn't, but could do so in the VFL).
