I'm going to go to Nannup and wander in the forrest and be at one with nature and I'm not even taking my laptop and my phone won't work so thats about the only way I ever manage to stay away from this place.
Its hard at times explaining to people, especially my girlfriend why I find it some compelling to discuss the absolute minutia of AFL football and in particular Freo on a daily and sometimes hourly basis. It doesn't even makes sense to me when I really think about it.

You are not alone.

If I got paid for it I'd never stop.

I was going to suggest that a few players shouldnt get a bye and should have an extra run for Peel.....But the WAFL fixture buggered up that plan :(
The AFLPA agreement with the AFl doesn't allow players to take the field in their bye week unless they missed matches around it. They are required by contract to take time off in this time of year.

Your critical thinking and analyses is as good as the best on this board IMO, and you write well enough. You could try maintaining a blog and submitting some pieces to the online sports mags but I'm not sure how much money is in it these days, I know you can monetise blogs with sufficient readers.
Conventional wisdom says do something you love for work and you'll never work a day in your life.

I've thought about writing a few times but I'm not driven to do it, I do it here because I love the interaction. I'm a bit the same with music really I'd much rather go jam with a band than sit at home on my own and practice for hours.

I think the born writers and artists do it because they feel driven to it, they literally go mad if they don't let it out in their art.
