You don't think that picking Armo is sure sign that Acres isn't up to playing in the square as an inside mid?

If that's not a signal, I don't know what is.
I don't ever remember Acres been given a extended 4 match stretch playing purely on ball?

Please remind me what year and what rounds this was in?

This is our most important game of the year to date IMO.

We win and we go into next week against the Lions at 6-6 with Hanners, King and possibly Carlisle to come into the side, still a chance for finals and a buzz around the club.

We lose, we go to 5-7 with a poor percentage, can count finals out and watch on as the pressure grows around Richo and the club.

Well it took 7 outs for white to get a game.
hes there now for one game i hope he does well. As we all know webster will come in next week for the expense of white. Dmac has a mortgage on his spot. Wikie may have to make way but it would have to some sort of game from whitey.

Congrats to hind started well but hes been avg for weeks but he deserves a go. So hope he has a blinder were screaming for some pace on the wings. Langlands is streets ahead of hind so hes pretty stiff.

Armo is a good in he deserves a go but i thought acres could have taken a full time midfield role. Hes the back up ruckman which is killing his output. He cant do both. Though marshall seems to do it ok.

Midfield we are in serious trouble pace wise. Lets hope there is a plan b no there wont be a plan b there never is. Suns will slaughter us on the spread. What a perfect opportunity to give langers a game hes oozes x factor. But once again for the past 5 years under richo its rinse repeat.

Not sure who will win this but i will be at the storm game watching a winning club with superstars of the game.

Just would like white to give richo a whack on the way home after he gets BOG. Might fix up his prostate examination face.

Ps dont take langlands over as em im going to sandy sunday dont spoil it for me.

White will need to kick 12 goals, get 40+ disposals and 20 tackles to even be considered for next week....all from 40% game time in a back pocket. Richo will find the negative otherwise.

As a former local boy I hope Langlands gets a shot later in the year, but at this stage, Hind has had the better year with Sandy. Which is to be expected seeing as though he is the mature recruit.
Hind - Avg Disp 23 Avg Eff Disp 17
Langlands - Avg Disp 16.8 Avg Eff Disp 12

Last 2 games have been good. Need to see more. We have to remember who our last 2 opponents were for Sandy.

The media have their stories ready to go if we lose. They can see 3 coaches sacked mid year which will take up front page. Much like Bolton, we lose and they will go for the jugular.

God help anyone on here that doesnt just comply with the masses , so if you have a different opinion your grumpy or negative , well FM .
I see a lot of promise in the group as a whole but i cant see us doing anything for at least 2-3 years , so some of you are plucking our we can play finals this year well thats fine , i just think we are no chance what so ever , oh there i go again being negative .
Its suppose to be a forum , maybe everone should just kiss A ssss , how boring would that be ?

It's alright to have a differing opinion but there's no need to belittle people for being positive. It actually makes your opinion hard to agree with even though you are probably right.
Just remember, we are all saints fans here and we all wanna win.

I understand the Coffield exclusion but I mean.... even Young got a another crack after barely touching it against Carlton and Kent has ridden the roller coaster all year.

But Coffield and previously Clark get one game at a time to get it right?

Otherwise I think the changes are probably the best we could make under the circumstances. I still want to see King and don’t rate the softly, softly approach but I understand it. With Steele and Steven out and Hannebery still on the mend we need another proven midfielder and Armo has been playing well enough and is essentially the last cab off the rank.
Coffield unfortunately is one of our HBF players so you either smash it or you’re Gone.
Young has a specialist role defensive small forward- we gave FA in that dept

The biggest thing we have going for us is the heat. We did 4 weeks of heat training to get us ready for China. Hopefully this pays dividends for a hot and humid Townsville.

The boys all looked sharp and ready to go from my eye yesterday.

I'm fairly sure it will be the first time we've beaten a Queensland team because of the heat if this does happen. Even at our best, I've seen us roll over with heat exhaustion very early in most games for as long as I can remember up here.
The weather is looking fairly temperate for Townsville but humidity is predicted to be 66%

As they should, if we lose even with half a team to GCs diminished crew at a neutral venue. If we can't win this we are in all sorts of trouble.

*under Richo :moustache:.
He had the perfect opportunity to try something new through the middle and still went with his old fave Dave!

In all seriousness, I really hope we see him on the wing all game... We will be needing the run. A short stint in the square would be interesting.

Armo is hard as nails and a warrior for our club. He also injects a decent amount of leadership and experience into an injury ravaged playing group that is awfully on the young side.
He's the least of my worries going into Saturday. Personally I'm more worried about our forward line output - if Bruce has another so-so game I can't see him keeping his spot. Hopefully he plays a blinder and kicks a bag to really make selection a headache in the coming weeks.

Saints by 30.

Also - anyone heard anything on Lonie? is he still expected back in 4-6 or hopefully closer?

Does anyone have more info on Steele's dislocated knee-cap? Sounds disgusting.

Listed as indefinite, which never reads well.

Your dead right mate but it doesn't give the positive poster the right to crack into me because i don't agree with them either , if they do they will expect to get it back with interest which is only fair , Of course we all love the saints and want us to win, i just think IMO that some on here are completely over the top with their assessment of our list and where we are at and because i disagree with them im Mr Negative , that's cool i can live with that and we will see seasons end
I take on board your comments though and hope those on the other side of the ledger do as well

After demolishing the dunnies in Shanghai, our boys will probably go for a pre match dip and end up with half the team overwhelmed by stingers...

...and the other half exhausted and dehydrated from pissing on them

Yeah it can get pretty sticky up there at times , thank god we weren't playing them Round 1 up there

I like the changes. Armo was needed for leadership and will surprise a few. Hind and White deserve a start more than Coffield, he really struggled and being a Pick 8 doesn’t get you a game with us anymore. Marsh and acres were always coming back in. Hunter/Armo battling not to be replaced by Hanners next week.

Sounds like someone’s missing their Furphies what with us playing in China then having a bye

Don’t worry Captain; not long now

I could be wrong and it’ll blow up in our face.. just think the heat training should be a benefit here. Or could go the other way and 2 x hot games in a row and we’ll melt..

Every game for us is like a final now.

Following the game against Port where we where totally undermanned having players crook - Billings , Savage or completely out of form or just not good enough - Young , Joyce , Long , Coffield and of course losing Acres , Marsh and McKenzie on game day - we needed the team dramatically changed this week.

White has a position in this team and if he shows what we know he has got he will cement his position , according to the way he has played at Sandringham he has been playing like a quarterback if that is the case it will only help our team.

I feel Marsh has to step up now and takeover Browns position and this will create the position for White.

Wilkie - Marsh - McKenzie
White - Battle - Savage

When Webster comes back in one of the backs will be rotated off the bench.

Anyway getting back to Armitage his form warrants a recall and having Steele out gives him a chance to show everyone he can still play before his body gives way again.

We will win this game and win it well - of course our problem is kicking goals and I feel one of Membery or Bruce will kick a few or at least 5 between them , Parker , Kent , Billings a couple each and our little champ Gresham to kick at least 4 , also expect the odd goal from Savage and Acres.
So expecting at the least 17 goals - we are more than due and after the Port mauling - Billings and Gresham to destroy Gold Coast and watch out for the quarterback White and our razorback Armitage.

The reason for the Gold Coast mauling is they don't have a lot of players to fall back on and having a lot of injuries they have a side that would lucky to beat Sandringham on Saturday and we now have a better fitter team and are playing for a whole lot more , while Gold Coast will be playing for there 8th loss on the trot - we will kick more than a 100pts
