I was sitting in the open air Ponsford stand for the 2002 GF. Drizzling rain all day 9-10 degrees max. It wasn't that bad. That said if I didn't have undercover seating I wouldn't have gone šŸ˜‚
I was there too. Queued up from 4am and got great seats in a mini-bay in the old mcc members pavilion but totally exposed. Sat with our feet in water all day, never been so cold in all my life (that is an exaggeration...I lived through about 15 winters in Germany). Totally worth it.

I got a selfie with Clark Keating over the fence before selfie's were a thing on that day. Unfortunately, I had the zoom extended on my Canon IXUS, so I got a nice blurry shot of half of Cracker's face, half of my face, and his shoulder. I'm still upset.

Here’s a thought. Jack Payne forward and Darragh Joyce into defence. Might be worth a shot.
That is a terrible thought šŸ’
Jack Payne has been our Rock this year.

It’s becoming the norm these days
Our team is guilty as well
Not a fan of the commentators quote ā€œhe’s earned himself a free ā€œ
earned pfft
Or "There was not much in it but it was there".I am still waiting for someone to explain how a forward can basically throw the defender out of the way whereas if the defender puts an arm around teh forward without any power its an automatic free kick.

I was there too. Behind the goal and had the perfect spot to see Rocca’s kick sail through the centre of the goal😜. ( for all the woods supporters out there!). However my memory is that we were so packed together, and perhaps it was so tense, that I didn’t feel the cold. I remember being a bit concerned that there might be a riot when that kick as called a point.

ā€œLots of plays broke down through dev, and his running patterns were matho like imoā€

You picked this up in less than 15 mins play time during a quarter in which the whole team had a collective brain fade?
Possibly gifted. Alternatively, whipping boy bias detected.

There is so much I don't get.
Ok stop laughing .
So
Like , how can mids hold onto each other and wrestle.
Same with rucks, just seems to be more of it or am I going you know insane.
And totally agree the rules changes on depending on where it is on the ground.
The wrestle makes the game a bit of a joke.
Ball comes in to inside fifty via a kick , no one can grab it cause they are all in full nelsons.
Ball rolls away.
Maybe we should be recruiting Killer Karl Cox.

Same.

We were in the highest further-est back row - on a timber bench open to the sky and passing jets!! The view obscured partially by the scoreboard in front of us. We were just at the right altitude to see the rain come before it hit the plebs below... then the hail... then the snow (it felt like)... then 5 minutes of sunshine to tease us... then the rain again.

Meanwhile the wind was blowing up our pant legs past our belts, through 3 coats and a shirt and turning bodily parts either blue or invisible at 150km/hr for 3 hours.

Mind you we were also high enough to see 2 Pies supporters knock the remaining teeth out of each others heads a couple of times towards the end when it all got a bit much for them...

Great times!

Rocca missed - and the only two people at the ground with a better view of it than me were the person in front of me and the goal umpire. And we were all in agreement.
Should dig out the replay and try and identify you in the crowd. You're easily identifiable from your hat, after all.

I don’t think he was wearing his red MAGA hat back then
