Round 13 trades

I'm in a bind, AGAIN.

I'm down to 2 trade scenarios. Taking a hit this round but I'm trying to go with what's best moving forward.

Trade 1:
Jäger > Selwood
Laird > Birchall
Macaffer > Daniher

17 players avail. (18 incl Docherty)

Macaffer > Shaw

16 starters (17 incl Docherty)

I feel like option 2 is better balanced moving forward and it's probably the only chance I afford Shaw. Downside is I play 16 starters this week.

Thoughts and criticisms appreciated.

I'd do Trade 2 mate as you need premo defenders more than another premo mid in Selwood.

I really like Trade 2 alot to be honest. Just fits your teams structure alot better those 3 trades.

Changed my trade ideas yet again! LOL!

O'Meara > Birchall via Goodes to mids.

Crouch > Mitchell.

Next week I'll try and turn L.Brown or Thurlow into Gibbs.

Will wait on Stevie J Sto bottom out after a couple of weeks and bring him in then.

* This way I'll get to keep Vlastuin and Goodes and use them as my D7 and M9 or M10.

I just feel more comfortable having Vlastuin and Goodes as backup rather than Thurlow and L.Brown.

What does everyone else think?

Agree, SJ has a BE of 170, with games Bris, Freo, Hawks (i hope he breaks his leg in that game ) and Melb, could be good to hold of for least 2 weeks.
There is no reason to trade out Vlastuin yet has a nice BE of 78 with games of Dogs, Saints, North, and GC.. could still make some nice coin. I know he looks like my final upgrade when the time comes.

I don't really think Goodes and Vlastuin are worth trading out mate.

Try and keep them as bench cover if you can.

Deep down I've always wanted to keep them both as bench cover.

I just don't trust spud Luke Brown and Thurlow. It would make me feel sick if I had to rely on one of them during finals.

I've scored 2140 & 2165 thru the bye rounds and done ok so Ill take a hit this round, hoping for 1800+. With minimal trades and a long way to go still, I need to take the rd13 blinkers off. It's carnage round after all!

Selecting the right capt. will be key this week.

As for your trades, I'm glad you came to your senses I was trying to talk you into keeping Vlas/Goodes the other night! Defenders are so inconsistent this year. Like I said, I'm happy to get consistant 90+ from these guys. If they bottom out, ill look at Hanley/Waters.

StevieJ BE is huge so he'll come down in price. Proj @ 565k by rd 15

Who is the best premium defender to get?

Already have Gibbs, Goddard and Birchall.

I'm probably biased as I had Duffield from the start & kept him through his lean spell.
So when people ask is Duffield the man I can only respond one way.

I think it's worth it and I will be doing it next week or week after if Oxley isn't named

It's only worth it if you intend to keep Staker I think.
Otherwise I think you're better off getting a non playing M/F or M/D.

Still haven't got Johnson in my team, waiting till his price drops by about $20K+ next week, then will go Zorko -> Johnson. Or is this too sideways?

if he doesn't play then i'm thinking of going laird to either oxley or daniher for the full 18? the question is, does big joe have the JS to justify the extra 60? considering bellchambers surely is to come back in soon.

my league opponents have 14 and 14 plus 2, not likely to win either particulary if they can trade
one def trade is mitchell in for paparone or crouch, still have omera but his 90 ave is still fantastic

Stevie J vs Selwood... Stevie J will get moved forward next week and my midfield spot will be free again for Swan or Selwood OR I just get Selwood now while cheap and wait for Stevie J to miss his breakeven and come down in price a little.

What would you do?

Midfield is GAJ, Pendles, Watson, Danger, Barlow, Cotch, JPK and ???????? (T. Mitchell, Crouch)

I'm thinking Selwood but now I can't decide whether to go into this round with 17 players because Macaffer -> Daniher or I should risk Stevenson -> B. Wilson to just have 18 this week. I'm on top of both my ladders so I guess I don't need to guarantee a win this week, I just don't want to lose to my mate

If Staker was a bench keeper, I would say yes. But his scoring is unreliable at best. Personally I'm going Staker > Daniher next week if Staker can somehow manage to make another 22k this week so I can make at least 100k from the trade. JS is all fine and well, but if he's going to give you 30's when actually do need him to cover for a premo, I can't see the point of having him for both Def AND Fwd cover

...so yeh Neade to Daniher if you already have 18 starters.

Unfortunately, nope. I only have pure midfielders in my MID and try to have dual position midfielders in my FWD and DEF lines.

Wouldn't waste a trade for a win doubt Wilson's security is grand!

Swanny will out score I'd imagine but selwood has been top 8 mids for years just had a lean patch. Solid pick & available! Same dilemma for me with Marc Murphy needing to move

Could be iffy for next week after hurting his shoulder! Although he is a hard nut so expect him to play really!
