hairy lasoo SC fish Amazing Bombers

Thanks for your help guys,

I've traded in Smith for KMac now.

And I'll be passing on Lambert.

With these plans, I'll be holding Tarrant, so I'll HAVE to downgrade him next week. And I can downgrade him to either Lambert (straight) or to Edwards via Steele fwd and McKenzie to mid.

I'll sit tight on bringing Goddard and Bontempelli in for Jelwood and Pittard for now, but I'm feeling like I'll probably do it. I'd lock it straight down if I could keep enough money for Heath Shaw the following week, but I don't think I will be able to find a way to get there without trading out someone I want to keep.

Good luck you lucky campaigner, enjoy your lofty heights.:)

Thanks -- I started investigating other options.

Jelwood, Pittard and KMac to BGoddard, Bontempelli and BSmith.

I've been so focused on Heath Shaw, I probably couldn't afford him after this, but next week could potentially be a double downgrade of Lever, Lonie to Edwards and Lambert. At least I'd get to see a little bit more.
Much better than your other safe alternatives
But, you know who I'll get instead of BGoddard :p

Just the one trade.

Been stuck with Anderson all season, can get rid off rid of him for Lambert

Will look at Edwards & Steele next week.
Tempted to go McKenzie > Edwards now but will play it safe & see if Edwards holds spot next week.

A lot of the guys at the top have Buddy.

I think I need him as an anti-POD. Need him to get suspended for doing something dumb. I don't think I can catch the guy in first if I bring in the same players as him.

Woweeeee

superfraser
any advance on your two trades today

So, I'll probably end up a fairly long way away from the top score for the round, but, right now, I feel like I'm in contention for it. (1146/9 (C) - from Ibbotson, Fyfe (C), Neale, Pendlebury, Swan, Deledio, JPK, Parker and Dusty. Jacobs, Sloane, Dale, Burgoyne, Hodge, BSmith, Beams, Lonie and Hamling still to play.

In my head, it's still Jelwood and Pittard to Goddard and Bontompelli.

Jelwood and Pittard gives me $967, 700 to spend.

Through DPP I can buy 2 defenders, 2 mids or 2 forwards - or, of course 1 and 1 of anything.

Structurally, I feel that two forwards is best (if they're DPP, of course that's also ok, but not essential)

I'm pretty open to anything, but I like Goddard and Bontempelli in both the long and short term. Both have fairly high ceilings.

I've considered flipping Jelwood + Robbie Gray (BE 168) for maximum cash generation.

It would let me buy Bontempelli and Dangerfield, or Bontempelli and Steven.

The issue I have with that is, just because Danger or Steven average and cost more than Goddard, it doesn't mean they'll score more. So it could potentially mess my structure and lower my score.

Wines >>> Titch

Worked out well so far...

Thinking about.

Jelwood >>> Sloane

Still.
Ouch. I was planning Jelwood Sloane today but now not sure if I should go Jelwood> Bont instead to give me more flexibility. I have a horrible feeling that Titch might be out of the side next week.

When did Ziebell change teams?

I stewed over this all week, as of course sideways as it gets. Ugh!?

I would go Sloane. Steal.

If Titch gets dropped after one stinker, gotta be way more to story as we have always suspected.

Oops, I was looking at gameday and Ziebell is on the field for me there. I'll edit the post. Thanks :)
Certainly looks like you've avoided most of the low scoring carnage. Last night has absolutely butchered the par score for this round. Gonna be very interesting to see where things end up. Logic would suggest that this week should be the highest scoring of the 3 bye rounds. Certainly isn't going that way so far.

Great thought process.

Gray was on fire till ****ing gibbs

Jelwood and jasper out.

Bonts I'm sold on, dpp and doggies easy draw and CD love child

How much cash does that leave you?

It certainly would, however, I suspect par for the top 5% teams might be only around 1800 this week.

I've got to decide between getting Bont this week or getting Gawn next week. Thoughts peoples? DPP is pretty irrelevant. Fairly similar price right now.

If you have a DPP in your mids, then Bont. I'd much rather have additional cover & flexibility for 14 players (midfield & fwds) than for only 8 players (rucks & fwds)

Jasper and Jelwood to Bontempelli and Goddard leave me with $21K.

Which leaves Heath Shaw unattainable for me next week. I'd definitely trade Tarrant out, perhaps just downgrading him next week.

....you know, I'm kind of tempted to trade Robbie Gray out now.

If I traded Gray + Jelwood to Goddard + Bontempelli, I'd be left with $176K.

Round 14, I could trade Pittard and Tarrant via Steele fwd and McKenzie mid (176K + 391K + 290K = 857, 800) to Shaw and potentially Shaun Edwards.

Leaving 177,200 in the bank for Round 15.

Gray is expected to hit $510K according to Footywire, by which time I should be able to trade Lonie -> Gray with the 177 200 + another downgrade elsewhere.

....or is that getting too complicated and using too many trades? Will I put myself in a position where I can't get Gray or GAJ.

Gray is the 1 forward, much like Fyfe in the mids that you don't want to have as an anti-POD for the rest of the year. Unless you're planning on burning another trade to bring him back at a slightly cheaper price later on...

Absolutely agree. In my preseason planning, I didn't have Gray up forward, needed to find the cash to make it happen, so traded out GAJ to Parker.

It would be my intention to get him back in immediately after a price drop. But I need to be realistic. These rookies aren't making cash quickly.

The cash generation would need to come from Lonie, Hamling, Dale, McKenzie, Lever, Steele, or Amon.

Lonie and Hamling could potentially get me there if they play well in the next couple of weeks.

...and if Gray had a below average game or two, he'd be reasonably cheap. It'd be a risk. No doubting it.

I remember a few people traded Gray out after Rd3 when he got injured had a huge 165+ B/E and missed the next game thinking they would trade him back in after a price plummet, which never eventuated. He scored 134 on his return and only dropped 10k. Two weeks later he was worth 20k more than the price he was when people traded him out. So not only was that trade a complete waste, those people who traded him out and didn't trade him back in on his return lost $ trading him back in or missed out on 134, 143, 134, 119 & 136 scores from his next 5 games after coming back from injury if they didn't trade him back in.

Contrast that with those that could have made a similar move with Sloane.

Trade him out after a 60 in round 4, worth $640K. Trade him back in at round 12 worth $484K, scoring 117 for you. Avoiding all of the following:
69, 75, 0, 0, 0, 94, Bye.

I'm not saying that I'm going to do it. But I'm considering it.

I understand the risks and the potential rewards.
