game wish: watch mcreery burst from pack and set off on a searching run at speed ..... bounce the ball - and have said ball return to hands with ease rather than spray sideways like a bung garden hose ........ i live in hope

Hard match to tip, so I don't know what to think. Win this and we're a big chance to be in the top 4 when the bye arrives.
Agreed. I’m not optimistic with our depleted lineup, but I feel we’re a much better chance than we were going into round 3 vs. Brisbane, so who knows?

Before last week, our most recent loss was 21st March. Our season is well and truly on track, our injury list is not.

Now, whose photos do you have, preventing you from being permanently banned from this board?

They posted on here because they know they'll get away with it. I bet they didn't post the same thing on the Dees board.

As I've told you on numerous occasions, it's a long season Benny. Only the dumbest of supporters would be declaring that they are going to finish top 4 this early in the season. Actually, according to our banter thread, you guys are already claiming the flag. I saw enough last night to say that you guys are more than beatable. Actually, if essendon didn't shit themselves and kicked straight, you would have been in big trouble. I'd be keeping my powder dry because you are no where near Sydney atm.

No one is near Sydney…. Yet

Sydney are at their best but we’re only in June.. Carlton, GWS and regrettably Collingwood and even Brisbane can go up a level from now, and yes I count you guys in the conversation.. whether you do go a level up or not is to be seen..

On current form though yes, Sydney odds on to win it this year…

Hopes:
  • Krueger settles - I think all he needs is to stay on the park for an extended period and we will have a good player. Last year he looked miles off, however, the impact of repeated injuries had damaged his belief. All he needs is that belief back, as in the limited snippets we have seen a reasonably fit Krueger he shows …. Lots of potential
  • Harrison to light it up, however, I fear we going to see a series of quiet games from HH where we only see limited flashes of something
  • Bytel to show competence with ball in hand and get a few touches. Composure and good ball use would be very pleasing. I doubt it.
  • Sullivan to elevate his game by 5%. Just to do what he does well, a little more often.
  • Markov back to his best, streaming off half back
  • Nobel less than or equal to two clangers.
  • Elite N/J Daics disposal (and of course lots of it)
  • WHE keeps on going where he left off.
  • Shultz to build on last week
  • Bobby to light it up
  • Straight kicking
  • Somehow keep dominating the CBA, despite having 3 of our 4 first choice mids out. Dominating may be an exaggeration, however, the Daicos / Pendles magic if we can get a reasonable team on is pure estacy to watch for true footy lovers / magpie fans of course :)
  • Pies to win!! If only half of the above happens/

If somehow we do happen to win both this week and next, then we are set for an epic back to back challenge. even if we don’t, our system, our new players coming through is great cause for optimism.

Somehow our structure looks so much better with WHE and Freddy. We loose a couple of players who are not up to it at the moment. Leaving really only Bytlel, I hate to say it, as an obvious weak link. I think of the newbies, Sullivan and Dean are both okay to play a role. The rest is really pretty good.

I don’t mind this summary, just made a necessary change

I would just settle for the last dot point to materialize, the rest will be what will be.

Gawn, Petracca, Viney and Oliver is a scary on-ball quartet. I really don’t see how we can match or greatly restrict them, especially when our midfield is so hugely and obviously dependent on one player.

Our defence will need to be exceptional today and the launching pad for a lot of counter-attacks. If they can do that, then perhaps our small, fast, agile forwards can kick us a winning score. But it feels like a long-shot.

On balance, I’m expecting Dees to prevail by about 3 goals but will be thrilled to be wrong (again).

Forgot Macrae, who develops some swagger and proves all the doubters wrong. He is one of those players who you just want to do well and hope he makes it. Well I do anyway. What i don’t get is that in his first year he played a few good games, regressed and since has slowly improved. His offensive game is much better, if he can get his inside game going.

Hope Kreuger goes well today. I must admit I've lost faith in him being a long-term prospect for us because of his extensive injury history, but today is a great day for him to step up and lead our depleted forward line.

Hard match to tip, so I don't know what to think. Win this and we're a big chance to be in the top 4 when the bye arrives.
Good points 👍
Love to see Freddie carve it up today, he deserves an injury free run that’s for sure.
It’s definitely hard to see which way this game goes, would love Dee,s to back up with last weeks poor performance, can’t see it happening though. We can’t drop off late like against Freo & Dogs today, hope we just find a way to win 😀 Go Pies 🤞

Dees mids have been really hot and cold this year. Clarry looks unfit, Trac has been tagged a lot, Viney has been mixed.

Gawn is the big one, need DC to restrict him as much as possible.
