First game at the Gabba this year, excited to say the least. Starc back, but no Toby to go up against. GWS youngsters tend to establish themselves against us for whatever reason so this game still has danger written all over it.

It's odd the Lions haven't mentioned anything about this this week. I wonder who the past player is?

Pumped for the game. Should be an absolute cracker. Very excited to see how Starc goes if he does indeed play up forward. His defensive work is A+, but always seems to have goal sense whenever he's around the arc - wouldn't be surprised to see him kick a few - especially with his contested marking ability.

Every chance they protect him as much as they can so he just gets through the game…don’t really have high expectations of him today other than hoping he eludes all head knocks.
Poor bugger…let a 2 year offer from the Lions slip away and now has all clubs red flagging him…footy is cruel sometimes.

Forward seems to be a fairly safe spot to return, but equally could see the positional change being a very good one for the team. Think he can and will play the Keays style role for us.

A perfect winter's day in God's own country well worth the 2 hour drive down to watch the boys go round. We do tend to react to media scrutiny and are a bit lazy when we are just glossed over. Expecting a win, it will be close at stages but we will have looked in control for most of the game.

As Tommy Hafey used to say, “if you can’t play football on a day like today, then you can’t play football”. So expecting a dour, scrappy affair that ends up about 11 goals to 8.

I can't see us trying to protect Starcevich, he will be told to play what comes natural to him and for the other players to play their role as per normal. If there was a perceived need that he had to be protected he would have been bought back through the reserves IMO.

However I could see Starc being a tad hesitant when it comes to putting his body on the line, which is to be expected. Also if we have the game in hand late in the 3rd quarter/early 4th he will be the one to be subbed off... or Sam Day.

I don't even try, I have a son who does it all on his phone, he's in IT and even he gets frustrated with the process sometimes... has said many a time it was so much simpler when we had physical membership cards, oh those were the days my friends.

I'm off now, walking to his place and then off to the Gabba.
