Hey Sunny Land, was it you who said we did a lot of work on our forward 50 entries at training about a month ago and to keep an eye out for changes.

Have we seen it yet? Because things don’t appear too much different.
Was hoping to see a few more hit up leads in our forward 50 and hopefully a bit more space to lead into.
Yes that was my post & yes there was work done on our forward 50 entries but the work only pays off it we are not under pressure when bringing it in. Our midfield have been smashed convincingly almost every game we have lost this season. I personally dont think our forwards have done much wrong considering the distruptions to almost every game thus far. The work I mentioned was with the way the ball was brought in by midfielders and our running backs. (specifically Wilmot) Still a work in progress at this stage.

We all know we are a better team when our mids are fully committed and a lot of our success hinges on this.
I think our ball movement has been a little too slow this year out of the back half to really give our forwards a good look.

With Charlie.. I think this year we been kicking it long into 50 and everyone flies to try to make a stoppage.
Not sure that helping his game as he seems lost half a yard to break through on ball ups.
Morris kicked 25-10=35 Scoring
Hippy 21-11=32
Bailey 20-16=36
AhChee 19-18=37
Charlie 14-16=30
Rayner 14-13=27
Levi 5-9=14

We have a few people not straight apart from Morris and Hipwood.
Even 3-4 more goals to a few players and we would of won 2-3 more games.
Bad kicking is bad kicking

Not like we not having shots we are 4th even with our crap precentage

Cats Goals 212 Points 154 = 366 scoring shots
Dogs 196-166 or 362 shots
Crows 202-145 or 347 shots
Lions 176-168 or 344 shots
Pies 173-159 or 332 shots

I think it's fair to say his body language shows us another side of him that's in need of a boost. Often he looks & acts like a spoilt child if things dont go his way. His urgency and committment to the team needs improvement. In my opinion Charlie has been playing for his own existence instead of doing what's right for the team & his team mates. He still celebrates to the extreme when he kicks a goal (although not too often of late) but watch him if someone else scores a major that he had no part in....it sometimes looks like he doesn't want to be there!
I think Charlie still has a lot to offer but not with the attitude he has currently. Maybe kicking goals and having a lot more noticeable involvement in games is what motivates him rather than playing his role and doing the little things well that help us win games. I hope he turns it around soon.
I don’t necessarily have the same “negative” slant on Charlie’s attitude. What is obvious is how down on form/confidence he is in front of goal - often when he kicks a goal (particularly set shorts) his celebration is like “phew, thank goodness that went through” - rather than what he was a couple of years back when you could almost note the goal down before he missed. He very clearly puts himself under a lot of pressure - he often has “smile” or something similar written on his wrist tape.
The lack of confidence in kicking goals and subsequent pressure he puts on himself bleed into the rest of his game. This is human nature… when one thing you’re were really really good at isn’t working it brings everything down.

Charlie has 3 more years. The key for our sports psychologist and our coaches is finding a way to unlock Charlie. A swap to a very different position may help - but this really can’t be done in season.

or maybe he’s still sad that he doesn’t get to play alongside Joe anymore, and the other guys just aren’t as much fun to be around.
