One aspect with Maric people dont get is his game style on a bad team kinda doesnt help his cause. A big part of him being in defense was him trying to speeden up the exit from it but when you got a midfield who cannot lead to the ball or a half forward line who cant take a overhead mark to save themselves it just leads to more turnovers as you are running into a area where you dont have anyone free to kick too.

Id stick with Maric at HB knowing that once our team gets better, particularly at creating space for themselves by leading towards the ball carrier his decision making will improve a heap.

Not sure exactly but I’m pretty confident Maric (like Hutch) is AFL standard. But we’re still experimenting as to where. So where Maric best fits now in an inexperienced team might be different to where he ends up. In the meantime … patience.

Would have loved to see Hough do it, but him being out is a bit of a blow. Harley is best left to be attacking and Hewett isn't strong enough. I doubt Hall is either.
So Cripps to get min.30 and 3 goals

He probably would anyway, gun.

Don't mind the Ginbey option but I dare say Jack Graham will take it first

If we can control Cripps we'll be a chance. I'd like to see Ginbey go to him. One of the few on our team with the strength to combat him but he has the athleticism to kill him on the counter.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Ginbey on Curnow given his athleticism, similar to how he went to Cameron

Hutchinson to tag Cripps IMO if we go that route

If Hough is strong enough, I'd say Hewett and Hall would be. Hough's not exactly the biggest guy going around.

Sam Walsh out for 6 weeks. Unfortunate for gim but should help us this Sunday.

Hewett is stronger than Hall. Neither of them are strong enough to really stand up at the coal face to Carltons hard bodied mids. Mind your this is the weakest Carlton midfield we've played against in a while. But with Cripps, Hewett, Cerra they are all much stronger than our mids.

Interestingly they have no real mid depth this weekend or now. They have probably already peaked as a side and have lost players due to salary cap. Matt Kennedy was hugely underrated imo and he's been a big loss for them. Have also traded out of this draft until Brisbane's pick in the second round.

Hall is quite a solid unit..lacks speed perhaps. Speaking of speed, Ryan and Brockman through the guts would be handy to get seperation.
