Punting TK won’t solve much. That message has already been sent once.Hunt,Cripps and ( shudder) Brock need a trip back to WAFL.
If the message was go and have a relaxing weekend picking up a few easy touches in the magoos and you can come straight back in the following week despite doing SFA then message received loud and clear.

Dropping Kelly wont magically turn us into world beaters but it will start the culture of not putting up with lacklustre efforts. It will also open up positions to start developing our young guys who should be getting a game ahead of him.

So all the lack lustre efforts are being dropped. We may win the WAFL with a near full strength team, but the top ups will struggle in the AFL

Well we’ve really zeroed in on TK.He’s done the job he was brought over to do and more.
His form is not great but gee he’s not Robinson Crusoe.
14 tackles in the second half of a game? Seriously?
Duggan should probably be first in line for criticism.
His skills are average at best so he needs to compensate with hardness at the contest.
OA is co cap but with his signing question marks and lnjuries isn’t giving us a lot of leadership.Hunt has been just awful. So what if he cost nothing, that’s what he’s worth.
Looking at Dewar in the first quarter he wouldn’t go near the contest.Given more room he played well.
Is he taking his cue from the club leaders or is it an overall club malaise?
Duggan came out and said the players need to spend as much time together as possible. He feels the club is in a 2014 position.
WC have never been a great wet weather team and I think a game like Carlton we needed a bit more grit and less run on top of the ground silkiness.

Duggan is nothing more than a useful HBFer in a good team. In a shite team he's a liability. How he is captain defies belief.

Cole is a poor man's Duggan, at best solid depth

Hunt is a roleplayer in a good team, and probably already past that this year, not the right fit for a rebuilding young side

OAllen is falling apart at the seams and is desperate to secure his own short to medium term future financially before he blows a head gasket and is written off

None of these have the talent or natural attributes of Timothy Kelly, none of them cost the club the draft picks he did, not that he could help that.

So what if things fell apart 12 months after he arrived at the club and it wasnt the stream of premierships and brownlows he thought it was going to be. Roll up your sleeves and do what you can. Instead we got a last man standing BnF year in 2023 in legitimately one of the worst teams in AFL history and a whole lot of jogging and missed targets. Thats the reason people get sick of Tim. He can offer so much more than the others can, yet he doesn't.

Fair.

Who is whipping Tim? He's been one of the worst performed members of the team for years given his seniority and experience and has just been rewarded with a two year extension.

Sounds like the opposite of whipping to me, I sincerely doubt the comments of a few nobody's on an online footy forum really constitutes Tim being a whipping boy. Just propagates the poor me woe is me aura around Timothy.
He has been a long way from one of the worst performing players for years. He certainly hasn't performed up to expectations but that is a different argument.

Cornelius, you have made a lot of very valid points about the lack of defensive skills in our game.
Drafting flashy half forward flankers with no defence will only add to that problem.
Isn't the defensive stuff part of an assistant coaches role to teach the players.
Our lot knew how to shrug and play for free kicks and not to lay tackles.
Mini should bring in his own assistants at the end of the season. Get rid of Shuey, Schofield, Mello and Webster.
Shuey who laid the 8th most tackles one season doesn’t know how to tackle?

Clown

Apart from the no love for the game, poor disposal, no ability to tackle, no leg speed and a total lack of desire for defensive running?? Nope nothing else

When you get a stiffy for a certain player; for example say Waterman, Ryan or Kelly - would you refer to your boner as just your standard rock hard and seasoned or would you call it a complete rager?

I’d be concerned if you got a boner watching any male playing footy but you dream of others parts all you like… bloody woke

Im starting to think the BigFooty community especially a forum like this and the comments like this can impact players to the core. Instagram comments, Facebook comments, Youtube comments, Twitter comments - they are all contributors to the players welfare. Players have had to take time off from games because of comments. Mental health is a real issue. Some players dont handle criticsm very well and one only look at Jamarra Ugle-Hagan as a case in point. Players have had to take time off from the game because of online abuse.

But for someone who has had earnt $800,000 per annum, I feel anyway you should be open to some criticism. Your role paysjust as much as the prime minister (if not more). We all know how much criticism someone like ScoMo or Anthony Albanese cops. In other sports its far worse too. And sadly, I dont think it will come to an end anytime in future. The criticism a player gets in an AFL season is small compared to alot of other sports - which I dont say is any good still.

In other industries if you underperform, your going to get sued for damages.

you can't handle that than retirement or the country leagues beckon. Tim could get be getting between 3-5k a week cash and train 1 X weekly in a bush league somewhere around WA. Plus all the beer and parmis he can handle on the house
3k-5k a week? What leagues are we talking about here? I dont think the WAFL would pay anyway near that surely?

You would be shocked at the slush funds big country clubs have. Here in SA state level players often are lured to the bush or semi regional leagues with pay packets in the realms of the levels I mentioned. Pokies are still rife in country clubs and many times players will be paid via private sponsors.

Many clubs do it Geelong style and offer employment opportunities, access to assets as incentive to attract or retain talent. Not to mention the shenanigans with the local flora and fauna.

I've played in the SGL the Southern Flinders League and in the Murray Mallee and come across a big ruckman on 7k a game. This bloke was a genuine matchwinner and basically guaranteed the club a premiership by being there. That's obviously a massive exception but it's nothing for players to be on big money paid in cash weekly.

Then there's the training expectations. I've played with players who drove up for the game and drove back afterwards wouldn't see them again until the warm up the following week.

Much as we don’t like Simmo commentating he slipped in a nice little snide one tonight. Talking about Voss he said “He certainly knows how to celebrate a goal …..as do most of the Dockers forwards”!
Kudos Simmo
