Why do they call it "a weird one"? They already have a rule in place that covers deliberate tripping. Exercise it.
If anything it's "an obvious one".

Agree when he has to take a dangerous fwd. But when allowed to float and position himself, can be a real weapon. Anyway, next year will most likely be his last. What a warrior he's been. Some are talking up McEvoy's first half in defence but to me his second half showed up exactly why he should never play there. He was a complete liability when the opposition had quick ball entries.
I accept that most defenders find it difficult when the ball is coming in fast and often but Big Boy is slower than most and less agile than most and is far too big a risk in these circumstances. If there was a key defender in the draft as cumbersome as Big Boy you wouldn't touch him. He is a ruckman and a very good one at that. Just play him there.
If feel sorry for the bloke. Has the heart of a lion, plays his guts out and literally bleeds for the club each game. Poor guy gets shoved from CBH to Ruck to FF weekly. Probably doesn't know if he's Arthur or Martha at this stage.

swap gold coast with geelong and that looks fairly similar to a top 6 from 5 years ago
Frawley (perhaps the most unfairly maligned player we have) and Smith should continue, you're right about the rest
I don't think that will work somehow...
That's a pretty apt comparison. Both Holden and us failed to change with the times.Sounds like they are both very different personalities to Burton .........
Leon cant cant perform in a Ferrari, might struggle in Commodore
You can say whatever narrative you want oh but hawthorn didn’t try in second half no.we couldn’t sustain it in the 2nd half the younger players fell away, and got overwhelmed. Jiath cousins scrimshaw worpel were among best on ground at the half didn’t get near it in the 2nd half. Essendon pressure was actually good in first half but our ball movement was much better and so was our pressure they were still smashing us in the middle in the first half but we were turning the ball over and scoring 2nd half our intensity wasn’t there has nothing to do with the opposition.Essendon was not trying in the first half. Zero pressure. As soon as Essendon put in some effort and pressure we capitulated.
exactly. game over.Completely agree. But for basic skill errors from multiple players in front of goal, we are up by 10 goals at half time.
don't talk too soon.Really enjoying the Dogs smashing the Handbaggers!
Surely everyone realises clarko doesn't have a tanking bone in his body?
He would be filthy with that loss. A winning culture supercedes the difference between pick 4 and pick 8.
Just on that, everyone talks of pick 3. You all realise we currently sit in place for pick 4 with neither Sydney or north looking like winning another game?
And lastly, this the WORST year to tank for a draft pick since the early 90s. So little exposed form to go on in their most important year.
don't talk too soon.
Kevin “Clarko” Sheedy....Yep - it's absolutely nuts right? Why does he feel Ceglar and McEvoy can play in the same team. Like I love Clarko - absolutely love him but his stubbornness this year is going to drive me insane. Something about the definition of insanity.......
Why do people think we are in line for pick 3? We win against Adelaide and we will probably get pick 5. S
Yes, much .Can he be worse than Ceglar?
One for the memory bank, this one.Kevin “Clarko” Sheedy....
it absolutely smacks of the same arrogance or ignorance to his own failures.
Sounds harsh and I expect both barrels for even mentioning this but if you summarise this thread, I think we can all agree that the coaching this season has been pathetic.
Clarko’s exchange with Burns is proof of this.
This club has been drained of its off field talent and just can’t for one reason or another find quality replacements.
I still feel that there is enough on field talent there to make finals next season but really need to do this with some heavy list management and tough calls as though it’s full rebuilding mode.
I absolutely don’t care on this seasons results, only performances and effort. That is only really being seen by the younger guys, the “senior” players to return won’t really help the long term goals.
Chip, Smith, Stratts, Hendo, Poppy, Shiels, Burgoyne were/are only holding this team back moving forward. Put them in this side against the. In era and there would not have been a 6 goal lead and more than likely be a 5-6 goal drubbing like the rest of the games this season where we were smashed.
“Players win games but systems win premierships” is the catalyst for moving these guys on so we don’t cop the same sh*t in 2021 without developing/fast tracking the under 25s. They are not the problem
Clarkson has done this before, and will do it again
and btw you with the sheedy comparisons. Why don’t you nick off or at least justify such wild comments. It’s what you get from anti hawthorn trolls
Less presumptuous then thinking other teams are going to magically win games to have us fall down the ladder. That's mighty presumptuous lol.
