Round 14 Trades

I have: Corey, Ablett, Johnson, Chapman and Mackie and is going fine so far. I think it's fine if they are from a team thats going well, but I wouldn't suggest on going and picking up 5 players from Essendon or Melbourne.

Who to replace P. Burgoyne as I only have 1 playing reserve backman who should cover Chad.

I'll only have 5k on top of what Burgoyne is valued at now, so about $310k in total and I already have Shaw, Milburn, Goddard, Drummond, Birchall.

I'm looking at Hargrave, McPhee, McMahon, Roughead, Wirra, .

ey now with the burgoyne injury im sorta forced to trade him as i only have callan ward to back him up....

so im looking at with 8 trades remaining...

burgoyne to mackie ? (what do you guys think, anyone other than mackie ?)

and

palmer/griffen to bartel (which player out ?)

thanks guys

Last trade to set my backline:

Ibbo/Myers (thinking Ibbo as he has peaked) to Johncock/Bock/Mackie (thinking Bock as he is more capable of pulling out big scores while his lows aren't too bad).

Any thoughts?

Cheers

Since Tom Williams came into the side, he has been averaging 104 points(?). It has freed him up and he has been able to rack up the possi's. So its a pretty big risk if you want to go with him because Williams basically determines his score. If you want him this week wait and see if Williams is playing because he got injured against collingwood.

please done talk about hargraves it pains me every time i see his name. I traded him out when he had 3 scores of below 30 in a row. Since then hes averaged 104:mad:

Ok so I need some help.

I really want to get rid of Judd but I dont want to waste trades.

If Cornes isnt listed I want to downgrade him to Birchall and upgrade judd to Cross.

If Cox isnt listed as playing I will downgrade him to White and wont be able to do these trades.

Also what is everyones thought on Ibbo??
Has he peaked?

Cheers

Sick of backline garbage...now lost 5 in 3 weeks.

All i want to do is update my mids but its a never ending procession of musical chairs down back.

Wanted to trade Kennelly 3 weeks ago but stuck with him now too...yet another walking disaster waiting to happen.

Nursing Bradshaw and King on the bench (Burgoyne and Cornes just adding to it) and playing 1 down even with Myers and Ibbo on the paddock. Realllyyy sick of backs. None of them are any good and its a total waste of trades turning them over when the new ones are lucky to scrape an 80 average anyway.

Wouldnt be surprised if Rioli is under some selection pressure now also. Just a feeling.

Moving him to my bench - just waiting a couple of weeks to bring in Franklin for Gamble. Was going to bring in Chappy - but I have a quazzy - no more than 3 from each club rule - and I already have milburn - and am bringing in ablett when his price gets somewhere closer to $400k

Will probably wait another week then bring in Bartel for Palmer - just think hat Bartel is a bit sore and the week will do him good!

Bloody Goodes is killing me - I hope Masten get's picked

what to do? what to do?

i am sooooooooo stuck!! my team was setup perfectly and then 3 major injuries and a minor in the same week has killed me...i have salopek, cornes, burgoyne and armfield (obviously as emerg)

salopek i can cover for a few weeks with cotchin or wellingham...but my bacline has been mutilated in the space of one round

i only have 3 trades left and $55, 000

i was thinking of trading burgoyne and then using armfield for a week or 2, but now he is injured too...

1) should i bare a 0 this week and hope cornes is back after the break?

or

2) use 2 trades and get rid of burgoyne and cornes??

Very good post actually. I think if you can keep 7 blokes on the park in the backline at a reasonably cheap cost, then go for it, and bulk up on the premiums in midfield and forwardlines, the quality just isn't in the backline this year, especially with cornes, mcleod and burgoyne all struggling. H Shaw and Birchall also getting tagged intermittently, it's too risky if you ask me.

Nice team mortizy, I like the Griffen to Hodge trade but I'd be reluctant to trade out Palmer, especially with only 6 trades left, it's nice to be a bit conservative at this stage. It only takes a little bit of bad luck. Also Palmer to Cross may not gain you that many points per week. Still, reserves in in each position as you say so its tempting...

Who is your second emergency? likely to be playing? Wait for the selections, if Chad is not named then give him the boot, he might return but he's going to be a pain in the butt for the rest of the year. Then hopefully you can use your second emergency to cover Burger. For Chads replacement I would look at someone like Birchall. Well, I have Chad and Burger and this is what I'm going to do.

Mortizy, having said that about Griffen he has started to hit his straps lately. You could do worse than to sit on him for the rest of the year. Even when he was scoring poorly, his quarter by quarter scores were good up to half time (aiming for 90ish most weeks) only to see him fade out. I think that he's gained fitness as the years gone on since his bad run with injuries and can now run out games much better. I haven't seen the stats but I bet his TOG has gone up in the last month or so as well. You could do alot worse than to keep those trades in hand mate, could be very handy.

Gonna use my one trade and go Waters to King/McPhee/McPhee/Gilbee... probably the latter and then ride out the Chornes/Burgoyne injury front with my 2 playing rookies.

Hey guys....
i have 4 trades left and i have $30,500 in the bank
This is my midfield:
J.Corey
N.Stevens
L.Hayes
T.Johnstone
S.Burgoyne
R.Palmer
----------------
B.Ebert
Browne

now I have Ebert on the bench who is massively, stupidly overpriced at $270,00 due to the 135 he got. I am very happy with my forwards and am not wasting anymore trades on my backs (ive got Ibbotson and if needed Urquhart to rotate through #7)

However, with only four trades left, and C.Cornes and D.Cox in the team (who i think we all know are heading for early ends to their seasons) i cant afford to blow through trades.

The midfield i have though, Johnstone, S.Burgoyne and Palmer; one of them probably needs to become a premium

I guess this is a problem that a lot of people have; to trade or not to trade??

Theoretically out of the 3 guys Palmer actually has the best average but he would probably be the person I would be most willing to trade out.... I can just afford to go Palmer -------> Cross

Sorry if I rambled a bit, just thinking out loud.

Cheers for any advice given.
